Happy New Year! I rang in the new year with my friends in Taipei. We went to Taipei 101, which is the tallest building in the world. Quite a place to celebrate if I do say so my self. We were crammed into the area around Taipei 101 with 5 million other people. Thankfully I dont not suffer from a medical condition dealing with too many people, I almost cried in panic when I was walking thru the crowd. People were so close together I could barely breathe. I applogize for not blogging sooner about Hong Kong, but last week was a blur after only 3 days of school then heading off again to Taipei for New Years. the trip to hong kong was our Christmas break, since our schools do not give us Christmas off we took off Monday and Tuesday so we could have some fun! I am happy to report that Thankgiving came and went with out too much homesickness. Thanksgiving was just another day here. I taught classes all day, went home watched a movie then I got some turkey rice for dinner. So I did have turkey just not the way I would have liked. ok so i'm just a few days late with the sports day update but ive been lazy and tired this week, go figure. well sports day was interesting to say the least. leading up to saturday the student practied every day and the teachers got gifts! Well my Halloween weekend definatly did NOT go as planned. A bunch of us had planned to meet in Taichung and go out for Halloween, the hotel was reserved and the costumes we purchased. Then on Friday night, Mary got in a scooter accident. She called me from the hospital to tell me what happened and she was going to have to remain in the hospital. When thinking of how to sum up my trip to Hong Kong all I can say is there is a WHOLE LOT of shopping. Everywhere you look there are electronic stores, jewelry stores and stores for pretty much everything else. My favorite place was Ladies Market there were so many beautiful pasminas and tons of places selling purses. they had magazines displaying what purses they had then if you were interested they would take you up to an apartment where they had all the purses, watches, and wallets.
