| 16th April 2007 Patton King | I am Happy. - From: LOST BLOG ENTRY Rachel, What a happy conversation. My definition for happiness would probably read something like this: Happiness is a moment in time when a person has a positive reflection or a new joy surface as a result of sensing pure Love or pleasure in life. Once realized the happy euphoric feeling rolls with time like a wave onto the beach. Sustaining this is emotion calls for discipline in the art of positive thinking. Life by design is a challenge. Mankind needs to respond to this challenge in order to be happy. The reason why so many answer the question in so many ways is due to the simple logic that we are each unique, but happiness has a constant meaning that does not change. It is simply what makes us smile. Have a safe trip home and that will make me happy! Patton |
| 16th April 2007 Ashley | - From: LOST BLOG ENTRY hey ray! i loved this blog! i do believe it is my most favorite thus far...you are an amazing writer and i love reading what you write! by the way i think happiness for goya equals: wrappers that make crinkly noises, sleep, food, sleep, bugs, food, the bathroom, girls, sleep, and maybe some food! i miss you lots! |
| 16th April 2007 Elliott | Experiencing happiness - From: LOST BLOG ENTRY Rachel, normally I'd give an immature joke that your writing is good but the pictures make your blog what it is, but it is certainly the opposite. Btw I've received much happiness from your blog, keep on blogging! |

| 4th April 2007 joe | the hard part - From: Hooray for Posessive Pronouns the really hard part about learning german is when you return to america. then, the monolingual population bleeds the german language out of your ear. if you discover some secret source of friendly german speakers in local communities, please let me know how you found them. nice blog, by the way. |

| 12th March 2007 Christina | - From: On Being a Solo Female Traveler I completely agree with being a SFT! When I studied in Dublin and traveled in groups, shopping was key, not seeing the beauty of the places we went to. It was devastating when we found ourselves outside Buckingham Palace at the exact time of the Changing of the Guards (which is a must-see) and they pulled me away because they were cold and bored and wanted Starbucks. When we went to Galway, I left the group while they were shoe shopping (in a store that we had in Dublin, mind you) and I got to see little nooks and crannies that were on side streets in the town that they weren't able to see. (I made them jealous with my pictures though!) I'm glad you are having a good time! I am so jealous of you experience! |
| 11th March 2007 Elliott | Awesome - From: On Being a Solo Female Traveler Hey Rachel, thats some great advice for anybody. Glad to see your still rocking the Europe Conquest, Dubrovnik looks just...special. Enjoy. -E |

| 17th February 2007 Jamie | Did you munch on cicchetti? - From: Venice is Dying One of my favorite parts about Venice were cicchetti bars. Cicchetti are little bread slices with local ingredients like fish or cheese. I equate it to Venitian sushi. One euro each and a one euro glass of house wine. It is a good way to make up for the fact everything else is so spendy. |
| 12th February 2007 Amy Snyder | - From: Turkish Delight You look good as a biker chick! :) |

| 10th February 2007 todd in dallas | why the medusa heads weren't straight - From: Breaking into Istanbul University hi, love your pics, reminds me of my time there with the US Embassy. don't mean to sound like an archeology nerd but Justinian(or was it Constantine?) dismalted the roman temple above where the cistern now sits, and using the biggest blocs(medusa and aphrodite's heads) used them to shore up the pillars(the 2/4 pillars they are under are higher that the rest). It was also a way for the Christian emperor to insult the old roman religions |
| 7th February 2007 Ashley | - From: Turkish Delight I hope that adam and elliot enjoyed the belly dancing!!!! congrats on the publishedness....you are amazing!!!! |

| 1st November 2006 Amy Snyder | concentration camps - From: Bitter History Rachel, I'm glad you got to experience this very sad place. I bet it was fascinating and scary and emotional, all at the same time. I took a Holocaust class in high school and have always been intrigued by those horrible times in our history. I am just bewildered that people could be so cruel to other people, in huge quantities as such it happened. Good luck with the rest of your journey! |
| 1st November 2006 Ashley | A Strange Experience.... - From: Bitter History going to a concentration camp is something that cannot be described...only experienced....you really begin to question the world around you and the people that inhabit it....how could it be possible???? |
| 1st November 2006 Ana | Wow - From: Bitter History Even though we know about all this I'm sure it's an entirely different feeling than what we'd expect being there. You're a very wise one Miss Rachel. |
