Got up early and finished last minute packing. Ryan and i went out for a really nice breakfast in a restaurant situated beside the golf course. It was really cosy sitting by the fireplace. Woke up and thankfully my ankle was feeling better. The swelling had come down a lot and thank god as it was my last day riding. Decided to go up Blackcomb. All my mates were working so unfortunately was riding on my own. But up there you just end up making friends with anyone. So i had been talking to this 20 year old kid who seemed to have fallen in love with me on the chairlift. He was just wierd, saying the most random things. Woke up and could hardly walk. I had fallen asleep the previous night with a bag of ice on my ankle but it hadn't seemed to have helped at all. Got up in the morning and had to drag myself out of bed. Another beautiful day as you can see from the photo taken from the balcony. Ryan came back home mid-morning with my new snowboard. I had bought new snowboarding boots and bindings from Dubai and had been desperately trying to track down the snowboard that i wanted. I was pretty tired but forced myself to get up. Left the hotel and caught a tram into the town centre. The tram ride was interesting, it was about 8am so obviously there were still some people coming home from their previous night out. A bunch of skinheads covered in tattoos came on and sat behind me, beer cans still in hand. I didn't dare look at them funny. Luckily they got off before me. Had a really funny flight over to Munich. I was working with this english guy Jamie and we got on like a house on fire. We were both in one of those really silly moods so after we finished the service we grabbed the onboard polaroid camera to amuse ourselves. Arrived into London Gatwick in the evening and made our way to the Sofitel Hotel which is in a great location right in the terminal. I was pretty tired but hungry so another crew member and i walked to the terminal in search of food. Most of the shops had closed by now but we thought we had struck gold when we found a nice little bar with comfy couches, only to find out the kitchen had already closed. As soon as i arrived back into Dubai i rang my mum to find out my sister had given birth to a healthy baby girl called Madison Alicia Smith, weighing in at 2.86kgs and arriving 3 and a half weeks early. I had booked leave for February hoping that i would be there with my sister for the birth.....but i guess you can't plan these things!!! I am dying to see her, i am a very clucky aunty! Got up early, grabbed a coffee and my favourite creamy fruit yoghurt (only made in australia) and waited at a bus stop for the double decker sightseeing bus. After waiting for some time i enquired with the concierge at the adjacent hotel to find out that both buses had been destroyed in an arson attack some 6 months ago! Just as well i hadn't decided to wait any longer! I ended up getting on a sightseeing tram instead.
