Dearest friends, family, and people I only kind of know, How are all of you? things here are going pretty good. I've been teaching a lot and studying Spanish a lot too. I met a girl that I like and we have been hanging out, but nothing is very serious yet. Her name is Lucia and she is beautiful. She only speaks Spanish, so, I've been studying a lot so maybe I can understand or speak more in depth about odd topics. She lives in a kind of bad neighborhood, but I love it there. It's so weird with it's cheap [View Full Entry]

Hey Everyone, Well, here I am. Today is my birthday. My first birthday away from home. I'm not doing anything special today. I'm gonna do some pondering, eating, smoking, and listening to Bob Dylan today. I'm throwing a party at my house on Saturday. It should be fun. I remember when I was 20 I told Leigh that I would get married when I was 28. She told me you can't pick the year, and she was right. Haha, I don't even have a girlfriend. I have been meeting a lot of girls but nothing to serious. Last weekend I went [View Full Entry]

Que Onda? Estoy muy chido. Life here is going pretty good. I have a good rhythm. I've been going out to the bars by myself and have made some real Guatemalan friends. It's a lot more fun than going out with the gringos from the school. Plus, my Spanish has improved a lot. I now only really teach in the evenings. I spend the mornings relaxing, and juggling. I'm getting pretty good. I went surfing a few weeks ago. I didn't really surf, but I tried a lot. The waves were crazy. After two hours I felt like The ocean and [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone, Mexico was awesome! I love Mexico! But I'm back in Guate. I traveled with a fellow teacher Laurence and I met up with another teacher Ted. We drank, visited waterfalls, caves, lakes, churches and just hung out around town. I looked for jobs there but I didn't find anything very good. I more or less decided to stay in Guatemala and leave in October and travel Central America before settling somewhere in South America. I can always visit Mexico... On my vacation I learned how to juggle and I have been juggling all day everyday for the past 6 [View Full Entry]

The buses home were crazy. We got stopped by the police and they found out that the driver overcharged everyone so the police made the driver give us our money back. Crazy
Well, here I am. This is my fourth time in San Cristobal and every time I see something new. Being here really makes me hate Guatemala. There is no razor wire here and it is cleaner with less pollution. I'm kind of looking for a job here because I like it so much, but I don't think I'll have much luck. Plus I think I could sneak Danny into Mexico. It took 20 dollars and 16 hours to get here, but I'm happy! I'm traveling with my friend Laurence. He's an English bloke, but he's pretty cool. I went to San [View Full Entry]

Hey Everyone, Long time, no see. Well it's been a while since I last wrote. Here in Guate things are mostly good. This past month has been crazy. No girls or at least nothing permanent, but I'm always looking. Danny's good. He's been getting big. We kind of play/fight sometimes and he makes weird noises. I'm not sure if he likes it so I don't do it much. But I bet he likes the playful aggression. He's so cute especially when I come home from work he runs figure 8's around my feet. I never thought that a rabbit would be this [View Full Entry]

Dearest friends and family, Well it's been awhile since I last wrote. I finished my vacation and have been struggling for money. I had to pay like 300 dollars to fix the brakes on my van. I got pretty used to having steady paychecks and when they disappeared I was trying to fix my brakes, pay rent, buy groceries, and party. Now I am working too much, like 45 hours a week, standing in front of people teaching them English. I understand English like I never thought I could. The school is short on teachers and that is why I am [View Full Entry]

Que Onda? No puedo creer que los dias han pasado tan rapido! I went to Tikal last weekend with my friends Joe and Hergil. It was an awesome trip! We took the overnight bus to Flores, and then we started drinking. We got a hotel, and then booked a Sunrise in Tikal tour. We passed out early and then woke up at 3am to go to Tikal. We were in pretty rough shape at that hour in the morning, but we soldiered on. The Tikal "sunrise" was just the fog getting lighter. Tikal was amazing. The city is massive maybe bigger [View Full Entry]

Merry Christmas everyone! Christmas here was good,a little strange, but not in a bad way. They have some crazy traditions here. Starting around December 15th they do this thing called posada. All the neighbors meet at someones house then we banged maracas and turtle shells as we march down the street. We then marched to someone's house and ask them for lodging. After songs and a little play-acting they let us in the house to pray, and then eat tomales and punche(warm fruit punch with fruit in it). I think everybody was wondering why this Gringo was there. The whole thing [View Full Entry]

Hey World! Life here feels like it's ready to blossom. I finished teaching yesterday for the Christmas break. Two weeks ago my summer school students and I(Mostly me) wrote a play. The little kids then acted it out while my students read the lines(Because the little kids can't speak English well). It was great! I no longer have a fear of working with kids. Not that I want to do it, but I know I can. The greatest 6 year old Korean kid gave me the best nickname I have ever gotten. He calls me Hippie Tiger. I work with some [View Full Entry]
