Hola, We left Rainbow Beach early that morning.... and had a little scare before leaving... our little car wouldn't start and we knew we desperately needed petrol so we assumed that was why although we really were concerned as the engine wouldn't even turn over! Hello again!! We had a relaxing day in Rainbow beach, just chilling on the beach (which wasn't as nice because it was soooo windy) and by the pool with lots more German lessons (I've decided my back-up plan job will probably be a teacher hehe!) before our Fraser Island meeting that evening! Heyho!! We got to Surfers Paradise late afternoon, rented a surfboard and went straight to the beach which was just across the road from our hostel! The waves were way to big and choppy though and after watching Greg look like he was about to drown for a while until he gave up, I decided to not even bother putting myself through it! So we just chilled on the beach before treating ourselves to a yummy Indian meal! Hola!! Our next stop was Nimbin for the afternoon, on our way up to Surfers Paradise! Well.... what to say about Nimbin... its a crazy crazy little colourful hippie town where everyone has done a little bit too much smoking (and we're not talking about cigarettes here!) so its not just the place that is interesting... the people seemed very special too hehe!! We just wandered around, went to the candle-making factory which was really cool, went to the insane musuem (I've never seen anything like it.... the most random/made up crazy stuff!) and had lunch! Hey everyone!! Hey!! Our first stop was Newcastle a couple of hours north of Sydney! We only planned on staying there a day or 2 to do a winery tour but it turned out that the tour left fist thing in the morning so we had already missed it so we decided to stay and extra night! That afternoon we went to the beach and spent hours playing in the humongous waves before heading to a pub for a free dinner (organised through the hostel) which was gross! Hey!! Once we got back to Queenstown we realised the hostel had messed up our reservation we had made before leaving Queenstown the first time, so we got upgraded to amaaazing rooms - proper beds instead of squeaky bunkbeds, with en-suites, TV etc! It was such a nice treat! :o) We then went and booked our bungy jump and then spent the rest of the evening being reaaaally nervous because it was suddenly official! :o( However, it rained all night, so the hope remained that we might not have to do! Hello!! So... as usual we left Queenstown first thing in the morning (Chris, Greg and I nearly missing the bus because my alarm didn't go off!). We spent most of the day in the bus, dropping Greg off in Ashburton to stay with family. We finally got to Christchurch in torrential rain (10 minutes earlier it had been hailing and then had starting snowing... very bizarre!) and I pretty much went straight to bed because I was so tired and had to be up early the next morning to get the bus to Kaikoura for my whale watching trip! Hello again!! My second to last day in New Zealand was spent whale watching which was amazing! I nearly didn't do it as I had to go on my own as everyone else already had plans or didn't want to do it but I decided as I hadn't done it in South America I really should so I hopped on the Stray bus early that morning and headed to Kaikoura!
