Hello!! I really am dying of hunger now so I'm going to make these last few blogs really really quick ones!! Banlung was fun, but in hindsight maybe not quite worth the number of days it took out of our travelling time with getting there and back! Heylo!! We had a great time in Phnom Penh (the capital of Cambodia)..... we were really lucky with our hostel and had a really lovely room with a view of Phnom Penh, did lots of sightseeing, although it was really hard work in the heat, and we really liked the city! We spent lots of time wandering around the crazy crazy markets, trying out lots of different foods (not always very successfully!) and marvelling (not in a good way!) over the "meat" stands which often included pig heads etc.! Hello!! OK... Hello!! The next day was another early start as we had to get the 6am bus to Sihanoukville (on the South coast of Cambodia)! We had paid extra for an apparently nicer bus but I dont think there was any difference to be honest I think we just got ripped off! Hello again!! We managed to find a really cool hostel in Siem Reap, run by a Swiss guy who knew everything there was to know about seeing the temples.... when/how etc., which was really helpful although it meant that we had we had some very hardcore sightseeing days ahead of us with much earlier starts than we usually would have managed! :o) On the first day, most of the temples were quite close so we made the most of the hostels free bikes and cycled around visiting the different temples! Hello!! I'm going to carry on with the trend (well... intention) of keeping my blog entries a bit shorter because I'm sooooo behind again and rushed for time as usual! Hello!! There is a lot of nagging going on about putting up my orangutan pictures (im sure its quite obvious who that certain someone is hehe!) so im just going to quickly race through Cairns and Singapore so I can get to the orangutans!! We spent about 4 days in Cairns which was really fun, it was very relaxed and we spent most of our time at the lovely pool at the hostel or at the salt water lagoon in Cairns which was really nice and free! :o) Our day trip snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef was definitely the highlight [View Full Entry]

Hello!! OK... finally on to South Asia! :o) I arrived in Singapore in the evening and got a taxi to the hostel - the taxi driver was really lovely and chatted to me the whole way, giving me lots of advice and tips about Singapore, as well as a general history lesson! I had been told that the people in Singapore are unbelievably friendly and welcoming and it was true! Just very quickly for KL because I only spent one night there.... we got there mid-afternoon after a nice bus ride and checked into a very cheap hostel... and checked out an hour later because it was so disgusting and we were scared about bedbugs!! We found a much nicer hostel and checked in there, before going out for dinner, looking around a huge chaotic market (where I had to buy trainers as I somehow managed to lose mine.... not even sure whether it was in OZ or NZ... apparently i'm just as much of a scatterbrain as before I came [View Full Entry]

Hello again!! OK the blog situation is getting a bit ridiculous now so I really am going to speed through the last couple of OZ blogs so I can get on to Asia... where I finally have photos! :o) To cut a long story short, the Whitsunday Islands were absolutely amazing! We chose a quieter boat (most of them are crazy party boats!) which had lots of space for sunbathing etc. and all of the people on the boat were really nice!
