Sometimes we think back to the best days of our trip over the last 9 months, and think they will never be beaten. How wrong could we be... SKYDIVE!!!! After 5 months in Australia we decided to go out with a bang on our last day. All 4 of us (Adam, Nick, Will and Joe) signed up for a 14,000ft skydive. There was some serious nerves going on even the day before for a few people, Joe was one of them - he is scared of heights! On the day we got picked up and taken south of Cairns. The business was run out of a little house and we had some brief training before being taken to the air field. The plane was very small and could only take up 2 jumpers and 2 instructors!

Its currently 9am and the temperature is already 88 degrees, I've already driven 400km today putting in 3 hours starting at 6am. The last 5 days have been long, hard, and very rewarding, its not long since our last blog but this is deserving of its own. It all started 5 days ago.... We woke up in Airlie Beach in our posh 2 bed apartment we had been renting, had a quick clean up and headed to the car rental offices. By 10am we had a nice Toyota Carolla automatic,

I (Adam) am stretched out on the sofa in the livingroom of our luxury apartment over looking the ocean watching tv on a big flat screen. Nick is sat on the balcony nursing a hangover from our night out in Airlie Beach. Mel and Kelly (friends from Lindeman) are making a full english breakfast for us in the kitchen. We have saved enough money to not work for the next 3 months. Tomorrow we are hiring a car and driving to Ayres Rock in the centre of Australia before flying to New Zealand in 10 days time. We just finished working 3 months in paradise. Could life possibly be any better? We think not. Our blogs slowled during our stay on Lindeman Island, and a

We are still working in Clubmed on Lindeman island and have now been here for over a month, the longest time we have stayed in one place for over 6 months, and it is starting to feel like home! Here are a few snipets of what we have been upto... Our jobs are both going well, the resort has been very busy and we have had a lot of hours availible to work. Adam was working in the conference section last week and managed to clock up 115 hours over 2 weeks! Anything over 80 hours is pay and a half, so that was a rather nice pay check! Nick is working in the main restaurant and Adam

Here is some details on our first few weeks of work and settling in to island life... We caught a few boats over to Lindeman island where we had landed our jobs and it looke beautiful on the way in. We were greeted by HR at the jetty and given a quick tour of the resort as we got the bus to our ne home. Clubmed is the only thing on Lindeman Island and the rest of the small island is national park and beaches. We live in staff accomodation called GE land and its not too bad. GE is gracious employee, GO is gracious orgnaisor and

When we left off we had finished our Journey up the east coast and had arrived in Cairns about 5 days before we had to give our van, 'Jimbob', back... The 5 days on the caravan site were a nice break. We didn't have to worry about driving places, where we were staying at night or what we were doing. We made use of all the free facilities and cleaned up our clothes. The local dvd hire place did rentals for travellers so we got a film for each night too! We played ping pong most days and all improved a lot! Adam won every game of mini golf we played! The main enjoyment we had was playing

Some good places visited and some nice photos taken along the way! Here you go... Thursday 27th we woke up in Airlie Beach and got picked up for our tour of the Whitsunday Islands from a local bus stop. The tour was with Mataray and we had a few stops throughout the day at various Islands and areas. On the way out the habour they offered us wetsuits as it was going to be cold in the water and we had some snorkling to do. Nick spotted a turtle in the habour as we were leaving! It was a nice family run business and the Grandad and Gandma of

When we left you last time we were in Caloundra on the Sunshine coast having just been to Steve Irwin's Zoo! We had a nice day in Caloundra and on Dicky Beach we saw the wreck of a small cargo boat called the SS Dicky, it wasn't mentioned in the guide books so was a nice suprise! The beach had also recently had a bush fire at the back of it and it made some really cool sand - it was white on top and black under it. We wrote funny messages on the odd sand then made some food by the sea. We started out drive towards Noosa and along the way we saw

It was the first time we had been in one and Adam was looking for a surfboard. We found a secondhand short board for $160 that looked in good condition, we got the price down to 150 and popped it in the van! We kept on driving to the Gold Coast and entered the northern state of Queensland without even noticing. We went to Coolangatta which is the southern end of the Gold Coast and is famous for its surf and parties in the 70's. We hired some boards for Nick and Meg from a place called Retro Groove and got down to the beach. Meg managed to get

Tuesday 27th we woke up in a place called Port Stephens, we had a list of places to stop at today and the first was Rock Roadhouse, which is a service station with a difference. We had already came to terms that we don't have time to see Ayres rock, but this service station is a mini version of it! Its actually not as exciting as it looks, it just had a shop and some food places in it - but we stopped to get a photo of Jimbob in front of it anyway! Next we headed into the rainforest as we headed towards Froster, here we stopped to
