Hola amigos! Today we are in lovely Sevilla. We were sad to leave friendly Portugal (Tavira) yesterday but had a quick and efficient (a.k.a. stress-free/no yelling or getting too lost) car trip. We are staying in the most marvellous accomodation in the heart of the historic centre of Seville so its close and walking distance to most of the sights. I decided to break away from mom and dad today and give them a chance to see things at their own pace. We have had lots of fun together and it is nice to marvel at the incredible sights with someone, [View Full Entry]

Buena noite!! Hello everyone!! So sorry to only be getting on here now to let you know how all is going!! We have just been having way too much fun! All was good with the flight..it didn,t seem as long as overseas flights Ive taken before...maybe cuz I had someone to get giddy with on the plane. we were separated on the long leg (mom and dad got to sit together at least), while I enjoyed my special vegan meal near the front of the plane. Didn,t sleep much on the plane but all was good. We nearly missed our last [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone! Only 3 sleeps until my folks and I depart for Europe - specifically Portugal and Spain. I'm vibrating with excitement!!! I haven't done the blogging thing since my last trip - to SouthEast Asia last January and thought it might be nice to do it again to share my travels with you, my family and friends. We are spending the first week or so travelling around Portugal and then will head off to Spain. We are overseas 3 weeks in total. I sure am looking forward to the sun! That is about it. Suwais diy my family and friends, My trip has come to a close. I am sitting in the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks club - decided to splurge on a day pass as my Minneapolis layover is a dreadful 10 hours and (you're not going to believe this...) I had money left to spend (eek!!! I didn't do enuf shopping!!). ha ha Anyway, its pretty swanky in here, I feel kinda' guilty. I AM enjoying the complimentary internet, snacks, bevies and comfortable/relaxing atmosphere. 10 hours is a long time. I am ready to come home. Let me back up to where I last [View Full Entry]

Chao!! Today I have arrived in Hanoi via Lau Airlines (I almost rubbed the finish off of my St.Christopher medallion after reading that Lau airlines has never met safety standards and hoped for the best) - safe and sound; oh wait, "sound" would be the bipolar opposite of how it is here. I don't think anything could have prepared me for what I was about to experience in this city. I'll back up a bit. I managed to catch a taxi with a Canadian couple from the airport after landing in Hanoi (oh, and saw a cat-sized rat scurry into the [View Full Entry]

Sabaidee!!! My title for this is blog is a saying that rhymes in my head as I am falling asleep after shopping the night market. They almost sing it as you walk by their stall. The last few days have been incredible. Left off in Houay Xai; when I wrote my last blog entry, I hadn't give Houay Xai and its ppl a fair shake. I came to really enjoy the town for what it was - a good intro into the "Lau ways". And I've coined the phrase, 'nothings' guaranteed in Lau'. Meaning, they tell you times or distances but [View Full Entry]

Sabaidee!!! Hello everyone!! I hope you are well and enjoying this blog (if you are like me, this site will have you hooked to enjoying people's travels from all over the world and their amazing photos). I have just arrived in Laos after crossing the Mekong river this morning. I am in a small border town (rather poor) called HouayXai. It is the transition point from where I take my trek from tomorrow morning. I have this whole day to kill and as luck would have it, there is absolutely NOTHING to do here. Funny. I usually run out of time [View Full Entry]

Sawadee Kha!! Hello everyone. I am having the most incredible time; in Northern Thailand right now. I've been too busy having fun to get myself to a terminal to tell you all about it, so I have a lot to tell you now. I am currently sitting in an open-air internet cafe with the sounds of motorcycles and Thai music and smells of fresh Thai food street vendors wafting in. You gotta love that. My flight journey was +++long but okay. A helpful suggestion from a co-worker to take some dimetapp syrup before flying worked - I didn't have any earaches [View Full Entry]
