Got up at 6:30pm took some photographs from the House boat. Had breakfast and at 9am left on a Shikhara ride. We went through Nigen lake, floating gardens, Char Chinar to Nishant garden and the ride was for about 2 hours. The shikara ride was an unique experience which lasted for 2 hours through the floating gardens where we saw vegetables and fruits being grown organically using the fungai from the lake. Later the ride to pristine crystal clear water of Dal lake. As we entered Dal Lake we heart gun shots from the near by hills and the feeling was funny, here we were enjoying a peaceful ride and on the other side there was a gun battle going on, and ofcourse the kind of things going on in my mind was something unexplainable. Got up at 4 am and went to Krishna temple and attended arathi. After aarathi left Udhampur ISKCON at 6:30am enroute to Srinagar. At about 8 am reached Patnikot hill top and sat there and had breakfast which was given to us by ISKCON. After breakfast started riding and within about 30 minutes it started raining and we had to ride with our rain coats on. The entire route was very picturesque with lot of colourful flowers adjacent to the road and in the valleys. The valley along the road was more friendly as compared to the frightening valleys of dharmshala and dalhousie. There were huge rivers in the valleys flowing with water real force and a couple of waterfalls like Anukhee and sharmeele. Though there were a lot of scenic views we couldn’t take much ... read more

Got up at 6:20am. I had a dream that it rained the whole night, even when I got up I was thinking hopefully they won’t cancel the helicopter since it is cloudy and raining heavily, but fortunately it was just a dream and it was actually sunny and pleasant outside. After the morning routine went down met Mataji who had already arranged for a Taxi. The taxi came at 7:30am and we left immediately. She had also arranged for packed breakfast which we had on our way to Katra. Nice rotis, Aloo curry and a fantastic mixed pickle in which one of the veggies was raw jackfruit. It was simply irresistible. We reached katra at about 8:30am and went to shrine board and collected the VIP darshan pass and a reco letter for Global helicorp/global vectra ... read more

We started at 7:30am and went to Kajiara (Indian/Mini Switzerland) as it is called true near chamba valley which is 27 kms from Dalhousie. You will know why it is called so once you see the pictures. On the way we drove through a couple of forest ranges filled with pine trees. On one of the passes just outside Dalhousie we got some fantabulous view of several snow covered peaks which gave a lot of work to our cameras. At Kajiara we also visited a jagadhamba temple where there was a beautiful huge Shiva Statue. Later we returned to Kajiara had breakfast at one of the restaurants and returned to our hotel in Dalhousie. Then checked out of the hotel and started our journey to Udhampur at 12 pm. Found a new route from Dalhousie to ... read more

Got up at 4:40am and we all got ready by 6:15 and settled the hotel bills and when we were about to take the luggage to our bikes there was a huge down pour and delayed our start. Luckily it got reduced after about 45 minutes. Though it stopped raining we loaded the entire luggage and wore our rain coats and got fully suited up and left after taking a few snaps in front of the hotel. We finally left at 7:30am. We drove through the well structured roads of Chandigarh and Mohali. A few minutes into the ride and rain gods decided to come back again. Once we were out of Mohali we rode through kharar, Morinda, furore, Khamnon, Samrala and reached Jullandar by about 9am. At Morinda though the gate at the railway crossing ... read more
