The last time I was in Thailand I was youngish, so I didn't take in quite a lot, I've found! It's been really interesting rediscovering the country now I'm more aware. Yesterday was the long-awaited farewell party which I was looking forward to more as an opportunity to see some faces I hadn't in a long while rather than to have a sad goodbye. I confidently expressed to my darling mother in the morning that I was going to stay thoroughly compus mentus, and I think that may have met with some disapproval - for the rest of the day and into the evening she tried to ply me with alcohol in order to 'get me in the mood'! So here I am sitting at home quietly trying to organise everything in time for the big trip...I can't believe it's so soon. A couple of days ago Han and I paid the full amount for our round the world tickets so it's actually happening! Scary, in a way. I also went to the pharmacy yesterday and had 20 passport photos taken - the bloke with the camera thought I was insane.
