One of the great joys and surprises of my life is how my involvement in space exploration has also become an exploration of Planet Earth. I have been fortunate to have visited many places -- from the Arctic to the Antarctic and around the world. Visas
We obtained visas for both China and Pakistan, in a pretty smoot process. It required a personal trip to the Pakistan consulate (thank you, LInda) and a little extra money at the China travel service in Pasadena to handle it as a rush (so that I could have my passport back in time to go to Russia today. I will be in Russia June 16-20.
