Ok, today we visited Auckland city. The biggest building in the Southern Hemisphere is the Sky Tower. See we decided jump of it! The Tower has great views of Aukland. Anyway we jumped off about half way up at 192m high on a "base jump with wires" type system. scary as hell but absolutely brilliant! The worst bit was stepping off into thin air! Search the internet to take a look! [View Full Entry]

We took a boat trip out around the bay of island to spot dolphins. Saw a pod of approx 20 dolphins and followed them for a hour. they swam againt the boat and performed acrobatics. great stuff! In the afternoon we took a trip out on "The Excitor". We thought this would be a fast action packed boat ride, but to be honest, it wasn't that much of an adrenaline rush. But we did go to The Hole in the Rock which the boat travels throgh. We watched sharks chase fish in the area. [View Full Entry]

ok, this blogging marlarky take way to much time, and the internet stations are utterly crap. Today we drove up to the 90 mile beach - yup 90 miles of continuous beach! it was incredibly windy so plenty of surf for as far as you could see. We headed up to Cape Reigna, the 2nd most northly tip of NZ. This was in storm force gales (Auckland was battered by 150km/h winds at the time) and we were pinned against a notice board by wind and hailstones at one point! a man rescued an old lady from being blown away. We [View Full Entry]

After a good night sleep in our van we headed north to see what we came across. We found a place called Langs beach, that was an amzing place. It was about a mile long with fine sand, plenty of surf and blue skies. In the distance were mountainous islands that made the view incredible. We were on the beach for about 2 hours, exploring all the little coves, and only saw 5 other people whilst we were there. You'd never see such a nice beach with no people on in England!!!!! We continued to drive north and came across some [View Full Entry]

After 35 hours of travelling (4 hours to Heathrow, 10.5hrs to L.A, 7hrs in LA (5hr delay), 13hrs to Auckland) we finally touched down safely in Auckland. We really needed to stretch our legs and we've never watched so many inflight movies. Two hours later, after another long wait, we swapped money for our campervan. At last we could finally get some decent sleep! We drove north for two hours and parked up in the middle of no where and kipped down for the night. Looking forward to starting our sight seeing tomorrow..... [View Full Entry]

Well, we've both spent the last two weekends catching up with friends (thanks everyone!) and we've got just one day left at work! Its going to be strange not having to work for three months but somehow I think we'll cope just fine! We then have Thursday and Friday to do those "last minute" jobs, pack our rucksacks, and to see the family before we head off. Itinerary We'll depart from Chesterfield, England, in the morning of Saturday 4th November 2006, taking a coach to Heathrow airport in London. From there we'll have to endure a 27hr flight to Aukland, including [View Full Entry]
