history lesson
let's see how much i remember from my history classes... francis light worked for east india company. he convinced the sultan of kedah out of giving him penang. he landed there in 1876 thereby starting british rule in peninsular malaysia. later on he acquired some land on the mainland then names province wellesley, now seberang perai.

Excellent Blog
Hi, Just happened to be doing a Monkey Beach Search and was surprised to find yours! Good Job, I think we will be doing this soon. I was sorry we Missed Rhonda and Denny's BBQ Hike. We had other plans and couldn't make it. Wah, Wah. Have fun at home. I just got back last week. Oh, I especially liked your Mountain Adventure, and I gotta tell you it would have driven my husband insane. That's why he golfs on Saturday and I sit around watching my kids do homework that never ends.

Handwashing
Ok, this is sort of scary but the very first thought I had when I read (before seeing the pics) about the bunnies was, "I wonder if they washed their hands?" :-) I'm glad you guys are having so much fun. That trip sounds amazing. I want to hang out in a glass tram above the trees... J

Beavers staying "home for the holidays"
Yes…. Like all duck fans around the world I too was ecstatic at the results of the Civil War. And in my bourbon induced haze enjoyed the game immensely. I was in such a good mood that even allowed myself to tailgate with Beaver Fan J.W. Scott. I normally don’t fraternize with fans from the opposing team, but I made just this one exception. O-R-E, G-O-N, GO, FIGHT WIN!

Mr. Pizza Hut
I've re-told this story to all of my friends and they all crack up as much as I did when I read this. You've got to record him sometime! And then send it out as a wave file. Enjoyment for all :-)

Wow!
Sounds like so much fun...or at least a new adventure. :-) I can relate to the hot bathroom/kitchen. Singapore is exactly the same way and I swear by the time I got out of the shower and out of the bathroom, I was already sweaty again. You'll just have to leave your towels in the hallway so they're cool when you need them! Glad to hear you got the computer thing sorted out, too. Sparks are never good when talking about expensive electronic items! Have a big glass of ice water and enjoy the weirdness while it lasts. What a truly life-altering adventure.

Sweaty Cookin'
I remember how awful it could get in New Orleans, in the summer with a Viking gas range and oven and a badly functioning ceiling fan. My dad has told me that compared to Malaysia, New Orleans ain't that bad - he lived there for awhile, and I think he ate out pretty often. His solution was to eat the hottest food possible, so the sweat cools you off. Take care!

Sweaty Cookin'
I remember the joys of cooking in New Orleans, with a mostly useless ceiling fan and a gas Viking stove. My dad has spent lots of time in Malaysia, and he says that New Orleans in summer in a walk in the park in comparison - so I hope you find a fan soon! Take care, Kirsten
