| 27th September 2007 Daniele | Djibouti golf course - From: Douda Golf Club I find this blog quite offenisive. It is easy for you to write an "ironic" recount of the sand course in djibouti, but actually it is not very good taste to be critical like that. Yes you will find camels, yes there is no green and yes it is unusual. However the guys that have built and maintain it are proud and are doing a damn sight better than other peers in their country for which they should be commended rtaher than told that you can barely call it a golf course. The caddys are young local guys that make a bit of money to stay off the street, so they shold be commanded for it too. And try to develop a grass course under 40C constant heat and then let me know how you get on. Suggest you hang around on a clean florida course or where ever you are from than going around with attitude and critising other cultures for the sake of writing a funny blog!! |

| 10th May 2006 dave landy | home - From: Walk about Town you're probably home by now, but if you're still overseas, I might suggest you be carefull and alert as I have been reading the newspaper and I am under the impression that the area of the world you are in is a little risky . be carefull. who knows where the oil they used on the putting green came from. there could be pcb's in it or something awful like that. wipe your shoes real well before you go in the house. Better yet come back to the states and play golf where the grass is healthy. concerned about your welfare, cousin dave. |

All is well in Washington--the cherry blossoms are ready to make their annual appearance as I head off to Italy for several weeks (sounds rather pedestrian, doesnt it?) |
| 14th March 2006 CR | Tuesday Golf - From: Camp Lemonier Large chops today--I needed 11---made 23--Had my 11 in the first 4 holes--2 birdies in a row. Would have done better except I lost my 8 iron[ chipping iron] at the 7th hole and had to make do after that. Reese found it so all turned out fine. |
| 14th March 2006 CR | Quotabusters - From: The Adventures of Monica and Phil I shall report the results!! First tee is us @ 9:10 am--where???? |
| 12th March 2006 Don Kingsley | Ha! - From: The Adventures of Monica and Phil I know that the story about a haircut is false because you don't have enough hair for a haircut. Seriously, is there a golf course there? I looked on Google Earth and don't see one. Is it like the original one in Alice, sand with sand greens? We finally had rain in our desert after 143 days of drought. It sounds like you will beat our summer temperatures though. What sort of food to they offer there? Can you eat western, or are you on a diet of goat meats and eyeballs? Hope Monica is coping with the shopping. Our love. |
| 5th March 2006 Jo Stubbs | Welcome to the new bloggers - From: The Adventures of Monica and Phil See - it's easy isn't it? We are still in the Barossa and leaving tomorrow so will hopefully add to our blog tomorrow. Looking forward to more about Djibouti and photos. |
