We woke up sore and covered in bug bites but ready for the day!!! We drove around looking for places for breakfast, couldn't find any, so we went to Joe's On The Green again, haha. We took down some more tropical breakfast goodies, then started went back to our condo for some more R and R. We decided to try out our beach for snorkeling, but the waves were way too crazy! They were coming in rough and the beaches here have rocks instead of sand. I (Mark) got out for a little bit, but there was not much out there. No big loss there, we knew we had a snorkel trip planned later in the week. So we made our way on the 45 minute drive back to Lihue for our afternoon helicopter ride. Both ... read more

Ok people sorry for the delay. This is what Britt and I did on Wednesday of our great adventure. (Everything in parenthesis are moi, Brittni). Before you spoiled brats get enraged because there is only 27 pictures, there is a reason. Since a lot of the days activities involved water, I thought it prudent to not bring our digital camera, and bring our waterproof disposable one. Using that thing felt like I was in the stone age. You mean I can't see my picture after I take it??!?! And have to wait until I get back and another hour after bringing it in?!?!?! The humanity. First world problems. Anyways, back to the day. It started early 7:30, which is OK because we weren't really accustomed to Hawaii time yet. Were really stoked for today, as this ... read more

We woke up refreshed and ready to explore a little more of Kauai with no plans and a broken computer (fixed it!). So we headed to the local market to buy some essential supplies (aka alcohol and underwater cameras). After purchasing our wares, we spoke with the cashier and she told us of a good local breakfast spot. So, we headed over to Joe's On The Green, a cool outdoor cafe situated on a golf course (go figure). It was a very nice setting, and we had to split some local food with mimosas. We got a loco moco, which is a bed of rice, with a hamburger patty and fried egg, with gravy slathered on it. It had a great Salisbury steak flavor, but with the richness of the egg and the starchiness of the ... read more

This is a combo entry (Disclosure). The night after the wedding on Saturday, we stayed at the Estancia Hotel in La Jolla. We got the romance package which included champagne and berries on arrival (midnight), breakfast in bed and a couples private garden massage. We pulled up in our white 1929 Durant, driven by our awesome chauffeur Lance, with Mark pressing the siren button all the way to the door. We checked in and found our champagne, which we drank but didn't finish (Mimosa's in the morning!). The room was great! It overlooked a beautiful courtyard, featuring a San Diegan natural habitat and small children playing. Then it was breakfast in bed time, more like on table and in room but whatever. Mark got a stuffed french toast and I got blueberry corn pancakes with plantain ... read more
