So glad you loved the Australian back. It was funny reading your comments, as I recently went to the UK and it wasn't until we went out to the countryside and villages that we found fascinating places and people. About the costs, I found food etc very expensive in the UK, but once I stopped converting everything to dollars I forgot about it. To be honest, I did find the people in Ireland and Scotland much friendlier than the English. Hope you found all Aussies friendly. Fran

Australia
Hi Brock, I was pleasantly surprised by Aus. To be hnest,I wasn't expecting much and we thought about scrapping it from our itinery but I'm so glad we didn't! We chose to fly from Brisbane to Darwin, simply because we were strapped for time and it is a lot further than it looks!! We did meet a girl who drove the route in reverse and said it was amazing but you need to apply for permits as a lot of the roads take you through Aboriginal land. Permits can take a while to come through so best to apply sooner rather than later if you decide to drive. Kakadu was one of my favourite places in Aus, I'm sure you will really enjoy it. Try and make the time to go to the rangers talks if you are looking to learn about the history of the area and have any interest in learning about Aboriginal culture. The rangers are incredibly knowledgeable. You can find out when the talks are at the visitors centre. The roads in the North were fine, just like any highway. We were driving a camper van so we stuck to main roads and highways, but the dirt tracks looked fun and I would definately consider hiring a 4x4. There are regular petrol filling stations, but we tried to make sure that we filled up as oftern as possible. I hope that answers all your questions! If I can offer youany more help, don't hesitate to contact us again! Kirstie

Interesting stuff
Interesting stuff there guys, although you do actually sound like experts on the subject of Aboriginal culture even though you say your not. You could have fooled me, you should put it on Wikipedia.

Hello!
Hey guys! These blog things are great, very entertaining, and inspiring, I MUST go to Oz! It looks incredible and I love the idea of driving through the outback and doing a bit of the rough stuff before enjoying the east coast. Cant believe you have been away so long, when are you coming back, must have been nearly 12 months now? Looking forward to hooking up and hearing more about it when you get back. We are going for one last night at the Cross on Saturday, thought of you guys, shame not to have you there too, dont know if you have heard but its being bulldozed along with canvas and the key as all the area around Kings Cross is being redeveloped, but have no fear they are apparently opening some cool new places so we will have to investigate! Anyway, hope you keep having a great time, and enjoy Christmas, wherever you are at that point! Lots of love Hannah xxx

We have "wicked" vans here, but i've not seen any like that - at least it's a talking point when you meet people. Bit different to our old Scooby van aye Krust!

HAHAHAHAHAHA
Well G'day mates, So.......that van is possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen in my entire life!! You have both become exceptional at writing these blogs, I practically feel like I am with you - just a Hot England doesn't sound too bad to be honest, but I reckon the place you guys are going to like the most will be NZ - I am the most jealous about that part of your trip and may have to unsubscribe from your blog. Especially as Cashy appears to have won the lottery and purchased a mansion so you will be staying in complete luxury!! Still missing you guys an awful lot but it’s jolly nice to see you so happy in all your pics! Don't get any ideas from those pigs!

HI Guy, if you got time please come back for more - especially the year end - soaked in the Christmas atmosphere - with all the nice n beautiful lightings out in Orchard road. Try taking the mass rapid train - MRT to some of our HDB hearlanders - you will find more good food and more decentralised shopping malls. Or just visit some of our hawker centers to sample really good Singapore dishes
