July 14th, A long travel day. Started early heading for Glacier National Park via Missoula, Polson and Flat head Lake. Followed the 'Road to the Sun' across the Park. Fantastic road and scenery. No Glacier thanks to global warming. Lake upon lake, waterfalls by the score, so beautiful. Mountain goats, Brown Bears and lots of deer. Sometimes too close. Arrived late at Kimberley, British Columbia, where we are staying with relatives for a few days. Pam and George [View Full Entry]

July 12th - Left Sheridan WY and continued to Five Springs and Medicine Wheel. The scenery quite beautiful through the mountains. To reach Medicine Wheel is a 3 mile round trip up a mountain path. Beautiful alpine flowers on the way and snow in the shaded sections of the dirt road. The 'wheel' is a North American Indian equivalent of Stonehenge (probably a celestial calendar). On the walk back down we saw a brown bear some distance away (thankfully) in a clearing near the forest edge. Night stop at Buffalo Bill's Hunting Lodge just outside Yellowstone Park. July 13th - Left Buffalo Bill's Hunting Lodge and entered Yellowstone Park heading for 'Old Faithful'. Lots to see and do in the park. Saw Moose and baby moose, steam venting from the earth, smell of sulphur, gorgeous fishing rivers, and Old Faithful which erupts about every 90 minutes. There are numerous geysers in the park that erupt regularly. Night Stop - Deer Lodge, Montana. Pam and George [View Full Entry]

Yesterday was all corn fields as we crossed Michigan, touching Indiana, and across the north of Illinois. Night stop was at Flint just inside Iowa. This morning we set off for South Dakota. It is all flat or undulating country with long straight roads. At one stage we encountered a dirt road for a few miles but this was no obstacle for the Jag. After a bit of scenic appreciation, we put the GPS back on 'fastest' rather than 'shortest'. This evening we are in Mitchell, S. Dakota, good meal and lodgings and squeezed in a visit to the Worlds Largest [View Full Entry]
