Greetings from Dubrovnik! I hope all the week 1 kids made it home safe and sound, and that you’re all enjoying the beginning of hell week – I know how much you were all looking forward to it. Day 7: The travel day actually went blissfully without incident (at least on our end – I haven’t heard anything from the other group but can only assume that’s a good thing). We all woke up at an early but reasonable time (7:00), got some breakfast, and hit the road. We were in the airport by 9:15, which gave us an hour to kill before the first group had to go through security and the second group was to get picked up. We justified this by giving the kids a killer of a morning dry-land workout (even going so far ... read more

We’ll start from the beginning. August 8th was sacrificed to the travel gods and spent doing the most mind-numbing tasks available. The most common ways the kids killed the time: watching classics such as Thor, Kung Fu Panda 2, and Fast Five; playing games on the myriad iPhones; and -- as we approached hours 7, 8, 9 -- loitering in the aisles (they were like crows to a field: we’d shoo them back to their seats, but then as soon as we’d turn our backs, there they’d be again, lingering in the walkways and hovering over chairs). There was also ... read more

Hi all, Like Dusty and Jason before me, I intend to use this space as a way to keep you all updated on how our trip is going. I will post as often as I can, and, depending on the available technology, will try to include pictures as well. Please feel free to drop a line in the comments section; I'm sure the boys would love to hear from you. Peter... read more
