Hi fellow bolgees - a lots happened since the last entry at central YHA. I have moved to a cheaper hostel less central but a lot cheaper called serpeants hostel. Have met a wide variety of interesting people, many crazy so i seem to fit in. Decided that id had enough rest after Rob leaving so signed myself on a 4 day open water scuba course on the reef. (new reef pics now in previous entry!) Rob left at the crack of dawn this morning to fly back home, the end of another era! Feels weird being on my own now after always having someone to travel with. Well a swimming and diving trip into the rainforrest south of Cairns yesterday- an amazing trip - infact the best organised trip weve been on yet. Jumping and sliding down waterfalls/ bum surfing and crocodile searching - will explain more tomorrow but for now onto Rob for todays briefing! Rob_ Today we were up at 6am for a coach trip down to Port Douglas, to catch the SILVER SWIFT (new boat) to the great barrier reef. Fantastic sunny day ideal for diving and snorkling. Well we left Long island and embarked upon a mammouth drive which wasnt very exciting, the highlight being an argument with some hill billy truck driver at a service station! Arrived in Cairns- Robs final destination some 10 hours later. Today however was the day of all days! The scuba of all scubas! The snorkel of all snorkels! Hi guys - back again, well weve had an amazing time here in oz, from surfers paradise we headed up tp brisbane for a quick stop and then onwards to airlie beach. From there we then caught a late ferry across to fraser island, thw worlds largest sand island! It was a pyjama party, but in true style me,Rob and Clay (irish chap whos now in our gang!) went as, lets say something a bit special.................................................. ............................................... well after a relaxing day on Fraser island it was back on the bus and up to airlie beach where we were to board a sailing yacht for a 3 day cruise of the whitsundays! Day 1 we settleed into our quaters, confined but comfortable and set sade to turtle bay. That evening we had a super meal followed by a few drinks with a few games thrown in. Hi guys - well its all been a bit manic of late, with little oppurtunity to blog - we set off on the bus which is an assortment of honeymooners (weird eh), canadian nurses and a few germans. First stop Corfs harbour - a long long drive - most of the day with activities on the bus such as kareoke gggrrrrrrrrr. Gday travel pommes! Well after over 10 years of thinking and talking about it we're eventually here - the land of beach,surf and sexy sand! The trip from Aukland was but an eventful one for poor young Robert! Firstly i got up at the crack of dawn - approx 3 am as Rob couldnt get on my lesurely 9am flight oh no.
