ok so this is the last last blog, Well i returned to a rainy winters day with temperatures close to freezing, how Blackpool! Was kindly picked up by Gem- (weird to see her with long hair!) who ferried me back home to reunite with my family. After driving round the block a few times i managed to pluck up the courage to enter! Great to see everyone and to celebrate we had a family meal in true Wiseman style. Much drink and eat, and stories of the journey were told. Very bizarre being back, but it definately feels like ive been away. My nieces seem to have grown up and are now joining in with GROWN UP conversations - i hope one day i will be able to aswell? My sister Suze and her husband Dinyar ... read more

Mushy Mushy? Chinese new year lasts all week and today we made the mistake of visiting a theme park called ocean park! This was probably the busiest day of the year to go and definitely the worst. The layout of the park was impressive, built on a steep hillside with views looking over the bay. The rollercoasters hung over the cliff edge as if it was contemplating suicide and the views fantastic. The only way through the park was via esculators or cable car which ended up being the worst design for a shed load of people. The rides we went on were great but it took usw forever to get out of the park being squeezed into a bottleneck alleyway with nowhere to go - more claustraphobic the cu chu tunnels! Once we squeezed ... read more

Yes its big its bad and its hairy - its Giles and we happened to arrive within half an hour of each other. An instant bear hug and off to the irish pub to commisurate his 25th! We chatted and gossiped about a load of stuff- he told me about Japan and i told him how Bangkok got its name in! It was really great to see him and we set off to the hostel he'd booked for us. Unfortunatley there had been a mistake and theyd overbooked which meant wed been upgraded to a twin ensuite room in the adjacent hotel for the same price- he always lands on his feet. We checked in and had a walk around the streets of Kaloon which is the section we're in! The first thing that hit me ... read more

hi my fellow followers - well arrived in Hanoi, and its manic! Similar to Ho Chi Minh but not in a way. Same Same but different they would say over here! The first day included some sightseeing which included a visit to see the legendary Ho Chi Minh mosaleum (ok forget the spelling). This was a wee bit bizarre as the security is something only a communist country could display - lined up fiercley in pairs like when going to the library at pre-school. Then we made our way past a large number of guards and had to give in camera bags - all but your clothes and even then i wasnt sure if i was going to have to strip down to my calvins and strut around the place of worship. We eventually entered a ... read more

Hi! Maybe a strong word but over the past few days have come to love Hoi An, it really is a jewel compared to the Vietnaam i have seen and experienced so far. The village seems small and the streets old and narrow, but there bustlng with life and vibrant with energy. Many scooters and bikes squeeze past each other, while the markets can be viewed while passing through. There is no real side of the road to ride on but it helps if our on yur right as the majority are going in your direction. The markets are also excellent and ridiculously cheap selling a huge range of clothes/food/electronics, you name it aslong as your willing to bargain hard and then walk away- not that id know i have no money. At night Hoi An ... read more

Well we arrived in Nha Trang from HCM with great relief to my dodgy stomach - say no more. The next day was a recovery day before we went to trip around the local islands. The trip included a small fishing village where the locals paddled around in small baskets attempting to ferry you around for a dollar. We had a meal on the island and then went for a snorkel. The afternoon was taken up with snoozing and doing pencil dives of the top of the boat (an ozzy thing?). On returning we then caught the night train again to Hoi An. Hong gave us a detailed discussion about security on the train as there are many thieves around and if they see a tourist, gather like rust on a hyundai coupe. When he was ... read more

Well ive met up with the group and am my new room-mate is a chap called Tobi from Germany but i wont hold it against him! The rest of the group are a good laugh and we all went out for a meal on the first night. Our New guide is called Hong and hes always lived in Vietnaam, Hanoi. The next day we head of to the war museum which basically involved a photo exhibition from all the photographers that got killed in the war. Its amazing to see how graphic and clear the photos are and hard to understand how they captured most of them. Shots over helicopters and fighter planes being shot down with the crew jumping out. There was a photo of vietnamese troops advancing before they killed the photographer taking their ... read more
