We had kangaroo tail for lunch. The highlight though was playing with the children. http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/blog-415360.html Kakadu The students have to keep journal describing their experience. I thought you might want to read what one student wrote of her expereince after visiting the War Memorial in Canberra.Splashes of color lined the names of those who gave their lives red poppies stained by the blood they freely gave. As I stook there in the silence soaking it all in I was amazed. The eternal flame burned brightly http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/Australian-Capital-Territory/Canberra/blog-414762.html Crocodilium FarmnDylan Today we visited a crocodile farm. Some students fed the crocs and then at the end some held a baby. http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/blog-414052.html Catching Up Photos Finally....plenty of Internet access. Yeah Here are some photos from the repelling. Notice the ropes attached to the mountain. Those same ropes were attached to us as we repelled. Four people repelled at a time. There were people waiting at the bottom for each of us. http://www.travelblog.org/Oceania/Australia/blog-414040.html Sydney Opera House and Repelling Hi EveryoneGlad you liked the pictures. Part of that reflection includes community service. This past Saturday about half the students volunteered at the New Bern Relay for Life. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/North-Carolina/New-Bern/blog-394341.html Reflective Comments on Travels We are all safe at home now. Before we left the students wrote their thoughts of their travels. Here are a few.The trip wa amazing. I don't know how to feel right now though. I'm actually bummed about having to go home. I can't wait to see my family but I will probably never see 30 of the kids again. Part of the reason the trip was so fun was because it took every single one of us to make http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/North-Carolina/blog-308818.html Eiffel Tower and Louvre Today we went to the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. It is hard to believe it was the last day. Tonight we had a goodbye party by the pool with pizza. Thank you parents for entrusting your children to us. It has been a privilege to get to know each of them. I want you to know that our delegation manager said they were the most prompt of the six delegations she has led. On the 23rd we traveled and had a oneonone interview with a concentration camp survivor. Another P2P group from California met him at the same time. His interpreter came in first and told us the speaker would not allow any photos gum chewing slouching or sleeping.
