| 20th December 2006 johnbibby | Nostalgia for 1966! - From: We Made It!! Timbukto I loved reading your report - I did the same journey in 1966, and had very similar boat experiences! I am putting together some memoirs - would you like to add yours? Please email me JOHN (York, England) qed@enterprise.net |
| 5th September 2006 Suze and Gia | Still following along! - From: Farewell Africa Hi guys....just wanted to let you both know that I am still following along, even though you are now back home. It was wonderful to see each of you - Eric, I'd love to hear some of your stories sometime! I can only imagine how nice it must feel to be in comfortable surroundings again - nothing like a soft bed and a hot shower in your own place, right? I am still checking in and glad I did....more photos and truly, all that I have been told is coming much clearer as a result of seeing the pictures. Michael, thanks for sharing some of your trip stories with Gia and I.....as you said, it is hard to really imagine what it all was like there, unless one actually experiences it.....but nonetheless, your descriptive commentary did justice to it all quite nicely. Gia and I are thrilled and touched with our gifts....it is as if we've been given a part of your trip in those new treasures and we will cherish them always. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, so very much. Thank you both for allowing us to come along on your journey. We are the richer for having shared such an amazing experience with you and maybe, one day, one of us will be able to return that favor with our own grand adventure. love, Suzanne and Gia |
| 2nd September 2006 VickiH | safe travels - From: Farewell Africa It's been some time since I've traveled as extensively and as adventurously...thanks for sharing! Eric...Touareg blue is your color; Mike...you'll see Leila (& many of her friends) in your class before long. We hope you have safe travels home (remember, you cannot carry lipstick on planes any longer) and enjoy your first days back! |
| 1st September 2006 Kylie | Wow! - From: Farewell Africa Wow! I can't beleive it's over! You're leaving! It seems like just yesterday, we were walking out of the Brooks for the last time! I miss it so much! I'm sad, but excited at the same time! I'll stop before I've said 'I can't beleive it' in five hundred different ways. Have a safe trip home, and I hope to see you both really soon! I miss you all! -Kylie |
| 1st September 2006 Mom/Carol | Sweet farewell - sweeter welcom home - From: Farewell Africa Eric and Mike I am sure this trip has been quite an adventure - the people, culture, terrain, the sites, the animals and on and on and on and perhaps the personalities of two american teachers in Africa giving a bit of their intellect, humor and themselves to the people of West Africa. All good things come to an end but the memories of those experiences live of for ever. Your students this year will definitely have adventurous, humorous and touching stories told to them - probably on a daily basis. How lucky they are and how lucky we all were to travel this journey with you. Thank you for taking the time to share with us - looking forward to seeing you today and then your pictures and hearing more of your adventures. See you SOON. Love Mom |
| 31st August 2006 Suze and Gia | Bravo! - From: Farewell Africa You'll not read this until you arrive home, but our best wishes for a safe and easy travel for the return leg of this enlightening trip. Eric....you will surely see more of the world, in time.....you've had a taste and there will be no stopping you, we're sure! Michael....as always, adventure is in your blood, so you will continue far reaching journeys - more mountains to climb, as they say. Maybe one day for me too? At the least, I will hope that Gia finds your recollections inspiring enough to seek adventure in her own life. I will be the cheering section for as long as I'm around and will follow along with excitement and anticipation, just as I've done here. Looking forward to your return and to catching up on all that we've done this summer, respectively. Take good care, we will see you soon! love, Suze and Gia |
| 31st August 2006 Lucille | Farewell - From: Farewell Africa Well you two have had a wonderful adventure and experience. Safe travels home. See you soon and will look forward to your latest photos once you get home. love your friend, Lucille |

| 31st August 2006 Kylie | Hey! - From: Message from the beach Hey Mike! Hey Eric! Yesterday was McGlynn student orientation! We got to meet our homeroom teachers. Ours is Mrs. Whenham, our science teacher! Isabelle, Julie, Halle and Katharine (I don't think you know her, but she's in girl scouts) are in the same homeroom as me! Yipee! I'm practicing the 100 years song on the piano a lot! That's right, I'm learning the actual music! It's not exactly a beginner's peice, and the rythym is really tricky, but it sounds really nice. Whenever I walk by the keyboard, I can't help plugging it in, and playing the peice one more time! Also, I'm kind of binded to my house, because my mom's car had to get towed. Good thing playstead park is withing walking distance! See you later! -Kylie |
| 31st August 2006 Deveney | - From: Message from the beach hey ya'll i can't wait to see u guys soon. me and gia have been practicing lately and it's getting there. i hope that u have a safe trip home. it has been really cold lately expect for today. glad to here from you! deveney |
| 30th August 2006 Lucille | Relax - From: more from the beach Well glad to hear that you are now relaxing until it is time to return home. You know Mike you need these couple of days because once you get back its right on to business and another hard working year. I'm not surprised that you are bored and Eric is just enjoying it all doing nothing. It is called unwinding before the next journey(school year) begins. You have had a summer of wonderful, busy adventures and learning experiences to bring back to all of us here. Well after this Eric has probably walked more than he ever imagined he would and now it is his time to relax, long overdue as he may say. Either he will enjoy walking more now or we will never get him to walk again , even just down t he road to Starbucks. Enjoy the serenity. Safe travels home and see you both soon. love yor friend, Lucille |
| 30th August 2006 Auntie Donna | Glad to see your blog - From: more from the beach Even though I wasn't full of exciting words it is nice to see a blog from you guys. I got teary eyed the other day reading your last one knowing that your trip is almost over. I really enjoyed looking for them everyday. I just imagined myself on the trip with you guys doing something I will never get to do. In some ways I can't wait to hear them in person but like I said I really am going to miss the updates. Also glad to hear you are getting some rest if you didn't it would probably hit you like a ton of bricks when you get back.Well try to enjoy it Mike I know my nephew is loving every bit of it. Love Auntie Donna, Mich and Nick |
| 29th August 2006 Kylie | Hey dude(s)! - From: more from the beach Wow, it must be relaxing to have a few days to just hang out. But I know what you mean, Mike. I go stir crazy if I stay inside the house all day, even if I'm having fun, I just picture all the other things I could be doing. Sorry I haven't written. I was in Maine with my cousins. I can't beleive that summer's wrapping itself up! But on the other hand, I couldn't be more excited for middle school to start! I don't think I've ever been this excited/nervous! (Okay except for maybe Xmas eve, where each year I wake up and hour earlier. This past year it was 3am.) My Grandma is staying at my house until school starts. I'm learning a little bit of piano, because my Grandma's giving me her used keyboard! Everything sounds splendid where you guys are! Oh, and a, wear sunscreen! Yeah! -Kylie P.S. COOKIE!!!! Chocolate chip! |
| 29th August 2006 anonymous | Mom/Carol - From: Message from the beach Don't know why I just got the pictue of you in a turban Eric. I always said blue was your best color!!! But of course I am speaking as your mother!!! Blue yes - turban is questionable! Anxiously await more tales from the crypt!!! etc etc etc. Love you Mom. Safe journey home. |
| 29th August 2006 Crewe Bloke | Hello and updated results - From: more from the beach Hi Mike and Eric If you get this message its just a quick one to tell you the scores on the doors. Liverpool 2 West Ham 1 and Brighton 1 Crewe (wait for it) 4 whats that... about time.. They are also on Sky at 12.15 this coming Saturday so maybe Fox are playing that game and you can wake up Saturday morning to Crewe v Huddersfield!!! All is ok here but when when you get the chance please call or send a text. I look foward speaking to you soon and relax and enjoy the rest of your trip. Torah from Ar Kid |
| 29th August 2006 Suze and Gia | Hey dude... - From: Message from the beach Maybe I've caught you online? Well, I sure hope that the end of the week proves better weather than today...chilly and rainy at the moment. Not that I'm complaining.....July was one of the most brutal in terms of high heat and humidity, so I've been praying for a day like this for awhile!! Absolutely...so much to catch up on and I'm glad you're looking forward to all the new things we'll have going on! The girls have been practicing here lately and it all sounds quite good! They've got a handle on the new songs and can run almost all of them through - even without drums and keys! No definite word on the start of the Plough and Stars gig....I think the owner is getting the new program set up, so it may not begin at the very beginning of Sept - which is actually good - more time to rehearse! I've listened to the CD continuously this summer and it sounds better and better! Spoke to Antony who told me that Crewe won, as well as Liverpool :) Well, enjoy your rest and reading time......miss you much! love, Suze |
| 29th August 2006 anonymous | Better hurry back... - From: Message from the beach Hi Mike. Better hurry back. Vacations are supposed to leave you wanting more, not leave you dying to go home.... time to come back for sure. Safe travels. |
| 28th August 2006 Mom/Carol | Looking forward to Friday - From: Beach time in Dakar It has been great to travel with you on this journey. Looking forward to seeing the available photos and hearing more details upon your return HOME. It will be interesting to compare your descriptions of the events that have not been told here on the blog! Although it is back to the class room, I suspect you are both ready to return to "OUR corrupt society". I am sure you will miss the adventures and warmth of the non-corrupt or more humble people of Africa at the same time I think you must be looking forward to meeting the new students that await your ingenious teachings. Soak up the r & r for the next few days. Safe travels home. Can't wait to see you. Love Mom --Eric your roster has arrived I believe I counted 17 girls and 7 boys! |
| 28th August 2006 Deveney | - From: Beach time in Dakar Wow! sounds like you guys are living the life by the beach. i can't believe all the stuff from the immigration boarder. sounds like mali wasn't as great as Ghana was. anyways , mike your book should be very intresting with all of your latest adventures. getting late. have a safe trip home! love, deveney, richie, cheryl, Big richie |
| 27th August 2006 anonymous | If the first one did'nt get to you don't bother to read this-- Julie (leonard) - From: Beach time in Dakar Hey Mr. Paci, remember burp boy, my brother? He's in your class this year!! Yay! John promises not to burp at you and/or do anything disgusting! Good luck-- Julie |
| 27th August 2006 Suze and Gia | Ahh, the homestretch.... - From: Beach time in Dakar Wonderful to hear that you are in a good place for some rest and relaxation, such a shame about your previous encounter. Then again, as you pointed out - an adventure may come with both bad and good...I'd say that you both have had an abundance of good on this journey, making it quite fulfilling and successful! Michael....I was at your house yesterday and brought in mail...a letter was there from the school. If you think that might contain your class assignment, let me know and I'll go get it and let you know what it says. On a side note....a (hopefully) pleasant surprise awaits your return :) As it's a surprise, I won't reveal much, other than to say I am spending today quite exhausted! I can't believe the time is getting so close and you both will be coming home soon! Much to catch up on - for us all - and we look forward to seeing you on Friday! Continue to be safe and well - much love, Suzie and Gia |
| 27th August 2006 TaskMaster#1 | your journey - From: Beach time in Dakar Hello boys, Well, I have been following along your expedition for a few weeks now and it has been extremely interesting and inspiring. I have waited to comment because reading your stories have been so intriging that I have found the idea of my own words extremely boring. Anyway, I am glad to hear that your journey is wrapping up in a safe and satisfying way it seems. When you get back I expect to see this entire journal translated into an oversized illustrated children's book. Welcoming you home soon. TM |
| 27th August 2006 Lucille | Relaxation - From: Beach time in Dakar Well glad to hear that you are now able to relax and reflect about the whole trip before you leave Africa and head home. Enjoy all the amenities you have there these next few days that you have been without on your recent venture. You both sure have earned it and it is a great way to end your entire adventure. Keep safe and looking forward to seeing you both and another school year. I have your coffee for day 1 or so, but you must come with me to get it. love your friend, Lucille See you both soon. Enjoy |
| 26th August 2006 Chris Bennett | HAH! - From: Return from Timbukto Mike, at least you attempted the camel! Eric, I think you need some turban lessons...lots of material there, huh? I think you guys need to compile all of this writing, add the multitude of pictures I am sure you have taken, as well as some of the personal journal entries I hope you have been keeping, and compile this into an actual book...I think it would be fabulous! I for one would purchase this book. Now, what for the title? "What I Did on My Summer Vacation?" Thanks so much for sharing this blog with so many of us. I have enjoyed it tremendously! |
| 24th August 2006 Elvis | to Eric - From: Return from Timbukto Eric sei fantastico, come un vero AFRICANO ti aspetto presto ad Augusta per disegnare di nuovo ..... a terra ciao |
| 24th August 2006 Crewe Bloke | Sounds like you had the hump! - From: Return from Timbukto Hi Mike and Eric, Sorry but I sit here chuckling away at once again a great read. I am sorry its been a while since I wrote but I am glad that you are still safe and having a great time. Just to say that I will look forward to speaking when you get the chance. Let me know if you are able to get text messages, because I have sent a couple, but got no reply. Everything is fine here and once again the rumours of work continue with the latest view and bets on me being sent to Northern Ireland for a project there. So lets have a look at the old score board.. Liverpool drew last Saturday away at Sheffield Utd 1-1 and were lucky to get a penalty which Fowler put away. The Alex were drubbed 3 zip at Home to Bradford City and in midweek actually won 3 zip away to Grimsby in the League Cup. Liverpool got through to the first round of the Champions league after drawing away 1-1 so it gave them a 3-2 agg win (I made a mistake last week because they won rather than drew which I reported) All is well in Crewe and our Pete has changed his shift and is back on days which I think is much better. Anyway your epic journey is drawing to a close as must I as the links of Troon beckon. Enjoy the rest of you time and relax on the beach then come back safe.. Love always Ar Kid. |
| 24th August 2006 The Andrew Family | - From: Return from Timbukto Congratulations! You did it -- Timbukto and back! We all had quite a laugh at Michael's expense. Too bad you didn't have the camera out sooner, but we got the picture in our minds. We can't say anything else but wow! What an amazing trip. Take care and see you soon, Julie, Mark, Kevin, Eric, and Scott. |
| 24th August 2006 Lucille | - From: Return from Timbukto Hello, another very interesting and wonderful adventure you two have just gone through. Glad to hear you made it back to Mopti safely and given yourselves a day to rest. Enjoy your days left and the beaches of Senegal and the serenity before you head on home. We all know that you both deserve it. Mike, love the turban photo of Eric, where is yours???? enjoy and continue to stay safe. Love, your friend, Lucille |
| 24th August 2006 Suze and Gia | Wait...is that....Ali G? - From: Return from Timbukto Haaa....Eric, when we opened to the blog tonight, Gia was SURE she was seeing a photo of Ali G! I think the turban suits you quite nicely, however. Good to hear that Timbukto was mystical, magical and exciting....makes the long journey there all the more special, doesn't it? Michael.....good going - taking no sass from camels! Glad you escaped injury, dignity notwithstanding. Curious about your personal belongings, considering that you've been deluged with sand and rain, a few times....how's all the gear holding up? Thanks for the fabulous journalism - the colorful details make everything come alive. Really makes me want a similar adventure....even half as exciting would be fine! Anyway, take good care of yourselves on the next part of your trip....be safe and be well. Can't wait to hear everything when you get back! love, Suzie and Gia |
| 24th August 2006 David P | - From: Return from Timbukto That looks suspiciously like a scarf on your head Eric. Too much time at Lesley? |

| 22nd August 2006 Auntie Donna | - From: We Made It!! Timbukto Forgot to sign off last comment. Stay safe and healthy again. Love Auntie Donna, Mich and Nick |
| 22nd August 2006 Auntie Donna | Spelling - From: We Made It!! Timbukto I was looking at a map of Africa to see how far you have gone and I realized there was no Timbukto. Until of course I figured out that is not the way it is spelled which I am sure everyone else knew that but me. Anyway it still is an amazing trip you two teachers have taken and you will have amazing stories to tell. I am jealous. Stay safe and enjoy. Bet you can't wait to hit a soft bed!!!!! |
| 22nd August 2006 Auntie Donna | What a wonderful experience! - From: We Made It!! Timbukto I do hope that you two teachers are at least trying to keep a journal on the whole trip. It just must be so almost unbelievable to be doing all these things that most of us have always seen just on film movies, news etc. I just can't imagine how wonderful it must be at the same time being so uncomfortable and somewhat scarey too. I do hope you have pictures of it and no slip ups this time Mike Pleasssse! I am really going to miss these blogs when you return to your real world. Again stay safe and healthy. Look forwarding to hearing more. Love Auntie Donna, Mich and NIck |
| 22nd August 2006 GP | Fantastic ! - From: We Made It!! Timbukto Great going .. look forward to your blogs with great anticipation and have been rewarded by reading of your exciting adventures. Eric - I print your blogs and pictures for Lisa. She loves reading them and is as excited as the rest of us. I thought I should get a place for everyone to meet when you get back and just spend an evening listening to the verbal narrative of your trip. Would save you having to repeat it 100 times. Anyone know of a place in Medford or surrounding area for this. Gabe / Dad |
| 22nd August 2006 Lucille | Well Done Guys, You Did It - From: We Made It!! Timbukto Hello, so glad to hear from you and that you both made it there. The journey sounds interesting, amazing, unforgettable, etc. Hope you did well w ith t he camels and the sandstorms. Please bring the turbans back- can't wait to see photos of you two in them and on t he camels. Of course don't let Mike near the camera/computer though. Not much time left, but enough to enjoy the desert and timbukto and your journey back to Mopti and then onward home. You both have accomplished so much this summer. I am and I know your other friends and family are very proud of your accomplishments and even maybe envious of some portions of your journey although maybe not all. I look forward to daily lunch chats of your journey(s), we have 180 of them to go through give or take a few. Looking forward to seeing you both soon. Continue to enjoy and stay safe. Thinking of you . Love your friend,Lucille |
| 21st August 2006 Suze and Gia | Congratulations! - From: We Made It!! Timbukto I'm throwing out a little confetti for you both...congrats on making the journey you intended!! Must feel very good to have that under your belts (or would that be, turban?).....in any event, enjoy your stay there and don't take any sass from camels, okay? You guys are brave, not to mention relentless....and that is said in a most positive way, I assure you! Going for it.....good for you! Michael...sent a text message that I hope you received - if not, let me know and I will email it instead. Midnight Blonde/Gia in acoustic mode - either or both (combo-type set), whichever works out best - have been asked to play a one month residency gig, Sundays, at Plough and Stars - starts in....eeeek....September!! And the Boston Globe wants to do an article about them being the kick-off to the P & S "New Talent" series!! Great news, but......what to do? Rehearsing in short time and ??? drumming! Can they pull it off? Aieee.....advice from afar, o wise mentor and friend, maybe? Exciting, but nerve wracking in getting things together, so quickly! (although Gia is rehearsing herself like a mad woman already!) Enough from here.....keep the stories coming and try to survive the onslaught of sand and lack of space (sounds like you are doing well with both, so far). As always, be safe and be well......miss you - love, Suzie and Gia |
| 21st August 2006 Mom/Carol | Enjoyed hearing your voice - From: We Made It!! Timbukto Eric it was wonderful to hear your voice. Your travel to Timbukto adds yet another colorful chapter to your adventure filled summer journey. My heart over flows with excitement for you as I know you so deserved a break from the routine of Medford and a trip such as this is a wonderful reward for all you have accomplished. This trip is something you will talk about for your entire life. Seems you will return to us a new man overcoming two very big obstacles in your life, one being your fear of heights the other is being able to let down the sides of the box (I think you know what I am referring to!). Hope you continue to have memorable interaction with the people and enjoying the culture as your trip winds to an end. Safe journey HOME. Did I hear a hint of desire for lobster dinner when you get home? Love MOM Mike thanks for protecting Eric's sleeping quarters hope you enjoyed the extra stretching room!!! |
| 20th August 2006 Kylie | Bonjour - From: Mopti and to Timbukto Hey Eric, hey Mike! I'm at my aunt and uncle's house in Cape Cod. It's really nice, and there's a Liquor store underneath it. For these past few days, I just can't stop writing poems! Not only that but my poems are (If I do say so myself) great! I'm getting used to my new haircut! My aunt and uncle also have this really friendly and smart dog Samantha! She'll catch a ball if you throw it in the air, and will return it in between your knees! They also have cats Yin and Yong? Yang? Their cats are soooooooooooooo friendly. Uggh. My mom is reading over my shoulder. Okay, she's gone. It's raining in the cape today. We were gonna go on the bike trail. Oh well. You win some you lose some. Write to you later! -Kylie P.S. My lip gloss tastes like grape, and I'm licking it off my lips! (It tastes really good!) You should try it! |
| 19th August 2006 Kylie | Hi! - From: Mopti and to Timbukto Sounds like you're having fin! (Except for all the toxic fumes and the early wake up call and all that. Come to think of it, most of the stuff didn't sound too enjoyable. I'll stop trying to explain my thinking before I forget what I was going to write) Ruby and I went kayaking (did I spell that right? I've never used that word before) and it was really fun, though your legs get wet, and it's hard to cooperate in a two-person kayak. On our way to this island, there were a bunch of teenage boys who were swimming, even though they weren't supposed to be, and when Ruby's mom told them so, they shouted endless swears at us as we paddled away, oh, and they mooned us. I didn't see it, but Ruby says that the guy was fat. Earlier that day, I finally decided to cut my hair. Bailey kept telling me that I should, and I decided to, when I saw the movie 'The Parent Trap' where these twin girls met, and one had long hair, and one had short hair, and the cut one of the twin's hair, and she looked really pretty! My hair is about shoulder length now, and let me just say that I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I think it looks really awsome! But I'm still trying to figure out how people with short hair brush out the tangles, when you can't comb it from the back when it hangs over your shoulder. But enough about hair, which I know, considering where you are right now, probablly isn't the most exciting thing to talk about. I'm getting more and more poems to put in my poetry book. I have 26 so far, that I think are good, but I think I need at least 30, minimum, for a decent sized book. I'm also under time crunch for the summer reading list and math, though I'm doing okay. Oh, now I remember the entire thing that I wanted to say in the first place! I was just thinking about how, when we left fifth grade (and fourth grade for that matter) how much of a close-knit family we had become. We were all such great friends! I'm really going to miss everybody in middle school. But, like Izzy always says, 'Go with the flow!' I've promised myself that I'll be totally optimistic and friendly in middle school. I want to make as many friends as possible, find silver linings in the worst of circumstances, and show bullies that they won't get to me. That (along with the new haircut) is my new image for middle school. I remember at summer camp one year with Julie, there were these really vicious bullies who called my friends and I dweebs, geeks, nerds, and were outright obnoxious. I'm not going to put up with that in middle school. I don't mean that I'll be vicious right back at them, but I'll tell them it wasn't very nice, tell a teacher, and ignore them! It's getting late! Gotta go! -Kylie |
| 18th August 2006 Julie | Mars email - From: Mopti and to Timbukto Glad to hear you are both having such great experiences. Eric, I just received your email about the Mars viewing. I don't think the information was correct. Someone else emailed me to say it was a hoax, happened a few years back, ... Sorry to disappoint. It would have been an awesome site from the beach. Both of you take care and enjoy the rest of your trip. -- Julie |

| 18th August 2006 Lucille | Timbuktu - From: Mopti and to Timbukto Great to hear from you again and that you are going to make it to Timbuktu. I know that is one place Eric spoke with me about wanting to get to and we discussed the depth of the journey to get there. Can't wait to hear all about the journey there and back and Timbuktu. Glad you are both feeling better. You will probably get this when back from Timbuktu but be assured that I was with you both there and I am still on this trip with you both. Enjoy, enjoy and enjoy and stay safe. Looking forward to the remaining journals and any photos if possible . The most important thing is that you have the real photos in your mind and all these wonderful experiences and they will be with you both forever. I can visualize and imagine from both of your vivid descriptions without pictures, which I am quite used to doing. Looking forward to many lunch time discussions and descriptions of your travels. Love your friend,Lucille |
| 18th August 2006 Auntie Donna | Will miss your blog for the next few days! - From: Mopti and to Timbukto I get disappointed when there is no word from guys so I won't go running to the computer the next few days. So glad to hear you are having a great trip. It is really too bad about the pictures but at least we have your stories. I do hope you get some photos of the rest of the trip. Maybe you should just retrack your steps and do the photos over ha ha! I bet you both would love it wouldn't you not having to come back to reality. Well again stay safe healthy and enjoy look forward to hearing more and hopefully seeing more. Love Auntie Donna, Mich and Nick |
| 18th August 2006 Kevin | - From: Mopti and to Timbukto WOW!!! Sounds like you're having fun. Too bad about the pictures, but you are both doing a great job describing what you've seen. Good thing we have the blog to see some photos and you still have time to take more. What lion poop? Did you see the lions? Have fun in Timbuktu. You will be the only people I know who can say they went to Timbuktu and back. See you soon, Kevin ( Eric and Scott say hi too) |
| 18th August 2006 Shirley | Timbukto - From: Mopti and to Timbukto I believed that Timbukto was a place my mother referred to in an angry way from time to time... never honestly thought it was a real place. My geography is very poor.... safe home. See you soon. |
| 17th August 2006 Jason | Hey - From: Mopti and to Timbukto Hope you guys are having a great time. Had no idea you were going to be there this long. I'm sure this trip has been absolutely amazing. I haven't posted before this but I certainly have been keeping up with this incredible journey. I still can't help but think of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when I look at those bridges! Eric, look forward to hearing from you when you return. I hope you both have a wonderful end to your incredible vacation. J |
| 17th August 2006 Suze and Gia | Cool that Timbukto is ON! - From: Mopti and to Timbukto Great to hear from the tech wizard again....the name isn't Slippy for nothing, eh? :) Sounds like some good stuff coming up and I am very glad that Timbukto won't be missed. So it's a short stay - at least you'll be able to say you were there! Hey, thanks in advance for the presents - can't wait to see what you have! Was at the apartment today Michael...plants are still alive - how amazing is that?! Got some laundry sitting here too and maybe....maybe....a spiffed up place will greet you upon returning :) Will do my best - or our best, as Gia will surely help out. Well, text if possible and have a fantastic time in the next few days! Be safe, be well.....love, Suzie and Gia |
