Old Owl - Bill Runk

Bill Runk I wish TravelBlog had been available when I started traveling on a weekly basis back in 1986. Oh, well. I'll just have to start keeping a record of my travels now.

Most of my current travel is job-related, and I visit the same locations over and over again. Also, because I'm am working during most my my trips, I don't have a lot of time to take photos. With all that said, when I visit a place that I think is interesting enough to create a posting, I'll do so.

I envy those who find themselves in a position to take months-long (or even years-long) journeys. I would love to be able to have those types of adventures one day. Until then, I'll enjoy the week-long and day-trips. I'll do my best to make my blog entries entertaining, and encourage others to explore (even if it's in their own town). (You just never know what might be around the corner.)

And, by the way, thanks for checking out my blog. Please feel free to leave comments. They are welcomed and encouraged.

These are the states I've visited (still need to visit Alaska and Hawaii):

This isn't going to be much of a blog because it would sound more like complaining than statement of fact. Suffice it to say that after spending a couple of days in Flemington, NJ for a business meeting, from the time I arrived at Newark International Airport (EWR) until I arrived home in Woodstock, GA took just shy of 15 hours due to ATC (Air Traffic Control) and weather delays. At least I arrived home safely, AND with my checked bag. Thank you, Delta. I took a few photos while I sat and waited in Concourse B. [View Full Entry]

I thought it would be a good idea to have my inaugural posting be about my current place of residence: Woodstock, GA. The future can be uncertain, but for now, Woodstock is home - the “basecamp” for my travels. The city is located in the northwest corner of the Atlanta metro area in southern Cherokee County; and neighbors the cities of Marietta, Kennesaw, and Acworth. We’re located approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta which means that we’re far enough away from “the big city” to avoid some of the traffic and other hassles; but close enough [View Full Entry]
