| 12th December 2007 Ivan | "...a Proud country with fighting in its blood..." - From: Belgrade anyone? "...a Proud country with fighting in its blood..." I am trully curious to know what your opinion is going to be when in 20 years the English, French, Dutch, and many other nations spend some time cleansing the Arabs out of Western Europe.....Last time I checked all these countries have a rich history of violence....It is comical how people like yourselves overlook that...Almost as comical as Turks being regarded as civilized people in todays world.... |
| 6th August 2007 Ewe #2 | Man - From: Ewe to You Too how DO you get a job taking self-portraits of yourself on sun-drenched Scottish beaches??? |

| 4th January 2007 Mark | Awesome! - From: The end of our tour Hi Kerry! Was on the website checking out pics of Bangalore in India (my next trip, in 3 weeks' time, cannot wait) and what do I find? A picture of Baatar downing vile vodka, awesome! That one of the sunset is stunning too. It's really good to see all those pics and think back at our time in Mongolia, it was quite an experience. Hope you're well, i'm settled down in Paris now, things are okay. Take care, M |

A few of us a comtemplating a boarding mission in February (provided winter actually arrives), so maybe it wont have been your only day after all. |
| 29th December 2006 Ol_boss | - From: Back as a tourist Oh fuck.. I must've been paying SO much attention to the talent, the title slipped my mind :/ Shall we just say full credit, and Shakespeare was the winner on the day :) |
| 23rd December 2006 Andy | well, - From: Back as a tourist it goes to show how much attention you paid - it was Much Ado About Nothing... but now that you've started on the whole classics road, I see no reason for you to stop, so perhaps I shall send you some Dickens to be going on with. |
| 18th December 2006 Ol_boss | - From: As usual.. it's the people Yeah, it's a cool spot :) .. and I hear only good things about Glasgow too - so exciting! :) You never filed in the Flixter survey! how am I supposed to know if we can choose videos together when you come to visit!?? |

| 15th December 2006 Ol_boss | In time.. in time.. - From: The final step.. almost I figured since you're obviously not coming home in a hurry, somebody had better prop up the economy in the meantime ;) I'm back in Poland for christmas, but we should throw some disc when you finally show up in the bonnie land! |
| 14th December 2006 Erik | missing the best - From: The final step.. almost Hey hey Kerry, Congratulations on stealing one of our jobs. I'd better not be getting back to Blighty only to find that I'm being squeezed out of work by an over-qualified and under-employed Scottish geologist! But what's this, you're visiting Scotland and yet you haven't yet visited the most important place: Aberdeen!!!! I hope this is just an oversight on your part which will soon be corrected. Erik (tchecossais). |
| 29th November 2006 Ol_boss | It's not so hard.. - From: Timewarp Thanks. Um.. story? A month or so before Christmas I was looking ahead to another year of work.. it wasn't looking like so much fun, so I decided to flag it. I stopped eating, drinking, and spending for several months, sold a few non-essentials and bought a ticket for Mongolia. I've probably spent around 2500euro to date.. Maybe not as much as you'd think (guys I know back home easily spend that on shiny wheels for their car). As for figuring out where to go next, I'm heading west to find a job in the UK. I generally just take things as they come, if somewhere looks unusual and there's a chance i'll meet someone who doesn't speak english - I'll give it a go :) You should give it a go, and send me a link to your blog :) Careful though, it's addictive.. and as cash dwindles, the limit on my credit card is looking more and more appealing :/ |
| 28th November 2006 Charles C. | What's your story? - From: Timewarp I've now read almost all of your blog entries and besides being jealous I'm also curious about how you manage to travel for months at a time. Did you work for a few years and save up your money and then quit to travel or are you "independently wealthy" so to speak? How do you decide where to go and when to leave your current location. It seems like you're able to just fly by the seat of your pants. Thanks for the entertainment and keep us up to date! Cheers |
| 26th November 2006 Kath | Improvement - From: Timewarp I'm sure that first photo is an improvement Kerry. Good look! |
| 20th November 2006 Sophie | Kotor - From: Belgrade anyone? Hey dude :-) So chuffed you went to Kotor! Spectacularrr eh! It was one of my favourite places. | 19th November 2006 Matt G | - From: Coming to a crashing halt Andy you are a magnet to all creatures, animal and man alike. But where is the mountain whale? |
| 18th November 2006 Ol_boss | - From: Coming to a crashing halt Hey you can't complain too much.. you are looking quite stunning watching the sunset on the ferry :) And as for the snake, you and I both know we were all too scared to do anything but run away ;) .. and Tans reckons she's hardened in aussie!? :) |
| 17th November 2006 Andy | what are friends for - From: Coming to a crashing halt if not for putting hideous and humiliating pic's of you on the Net for the world to see. And I can't even blame the artist himself, since the rest of your pics are really quite stunning. I think I will have to rely on inner beauty :} what you didn't get a photo of was the green snake we saw ...well, snaking, amongst the grass about a metre away from us. A rare sight for Kiwis... Weird that something so small and green can give you the shakes! |

You travel in my footsteps just about a year ago.... it was pretty freezing when I was there! Haven't been to Bulgaria so am interested what you will have to say. Hope the cold is getting better... happy and safe travels |
| 12th October 2006 Erik | Heya Kiwi Dude - From: On avoiding bırd flu, religious zealots, children, and work Hey there, How are things. I hope you have managed to get to Cappadocia and beyond without too much trouble since we split in Tatvan (I, of course, forgot to get your e-mail so I can only write through your site). I am now in Diyarbakir, hotbed of Kurdish nationalism and the like, but at night it looks rather nice. Keep up the good work, Erik. P.S. You forgot to mention to your female readership that I am good looking and single! |
| 2nd October 2006 Kath and Martin | What can we say!!! - From: Tumbling Accross Russia You really are trying to freak your mother out, aren't you Kerry. We are printing these off for nana and she's lovin' them. Wish I had done something like this when I went to Romania last year. My skills aren't quite up to it. Maybe next time! | 30th September 2006 elfreda | russia - From: Tumbling Accross Russia Sounds like Russia is a place to remember, for all the right or wrong reasons? I suppose that depends on the individual... Am still struggling to read all your travel stories and finding myself doing the same thing day in and day out working, gym, run, eat, watching telly, sleep, work, gym, run, eat, watching telly, sleep.... But I DO NOT envy your sleeping arrangements. That probably the one thing I hated the most about travelling... Having to pay extortionate amounts to sleep in a cruddy bunk bed with lots of other critters to keep you awake if you don't already struggle with having to share your space! keep up the good work on your journal writing, its a welcome escapism for me! |
| 24th September 2006 helen Lord | Fish and Chips - From: Island life Hey kerry we thought of you today as we went to Daves place and ate our first fish and chips which we loved- and so great to have NZ fish- it lived up to your recommendation. | 22nd September 2006 pete | - From: Island life Kerry, your writing style is great, turns your adventure into a light hearted read - well done. Too bad about the finger, hope it comes right soon. Have heard similar things about the Russians, stony faced at first, but then very friendly once you get their trust. Look forward to the next installation. Cheers. |
| 20th September 2006 Ol_boss | - From: Island life Camera? err.. nothing flash (Canon S60). I like to think it's the subject matter rather than the photographer :) |
| 18th September 2006 Helen Lord | Photos - From: Island life Yopur photos are truly magnificent. make some money and write a wee book with them all in it. Really wonderful to see. What kind of camera do you take them with? Hope your knee is healing without problems. Safe travelling. Helen |

| 18th September 2006 Helen Lord | Mongolian friends - From: Island life Hey there Kerry- wow you do explore in an exciting fashion. Good on you. Sorry to hear about your cut knee- but sounds like you soldiered on in true kiwi spirit. Good to hear the Russians can be friendly- they don't always seem that way eh? But I know some fabulous Russians in Ch-Ch. Take care and I will keep reading your blog. Regards Helen and Don in Ulaanbaatar |
| 17th September 2006 Ol_boss | - From: UB to Irkutsk Nah, but maybe that's why there's only one door on a ger - not too many escape options in the case of any mid-winter extra-curricular shagging! |
| 17th September 2006 Ol_boss | - From: UB to Irkutsk Ha ha.. you've packed your bag plenty of times :) As for enjoying the northern winter, I threw out my sunscreen today and have just noticed how functional and un-styley all my warm clothes are.. may have to hedad south to search for an endless summer! |

| 13th September 2006 Shane | Happy Late Birthday - From: UB to Irkutsk Yo, sounds like Russia is living up to the rep. These injuries weren't obtained from a mad dash out of a ger when the husband came home were they? |
| 1st September 2006 Ol_boss | Fuck I just got it : ) - From: China's coming to a close how's it bro? Much like you and my birthday the Mongolians completely ignored the wall & as far as i know (much like me) it did fuck all. |

| 1st September 2006 Ol_boss | - From: The end of our tour Yeah bro, Russia's actually sounding like a horrible place - and gets worse the closer we get. I'm not sure about H on the trans-sib, I think he's got the bunk above mine, and that's one ass i don't want to see! |
| 1st September 2006 Ol_boss | Yeah, you'd definately starve... - From: China to the Gobi You should see their vege soup (apparently a sheep can be classed as a veg if stewed)! Oh, and happy birthday, I hear it went well :) |
| 30th August 2006 Will Grenfell | Grrrr! - From: The end of our tour Good work, looking forward to hearing of Russia! A hard time with H? Make sure he gets a root on Trans-Siberian or he might get more moody! |
