Rio de Janeiro is awesome! We had such a good time here that we found it hard to leave.... thus 3 days turned into 7 and we had to force ourselves to move on! Because perfect weather, friendly people and amazing food comes at a price! Lets´s start at the beginning! We nearly missed our flight! yep, we nearly missed out on rio altogether because they had brought our flight forward by nearly two hrs and we didn´t know! So we turned up at the airport thinking we had plenty of time, only to be told that check-in had closed [View Full Entry]

Narelle made me write this,... Well we were here only 2 days but in that time we became quite intimate with this tiny northen town of 30,000.. It consists of the usual small one way streets, as all towns in Argentina seem to have, but not the usual dog poo everywhere .. this is a town that appears to have nothing happening, oh, but it does... you just have to wait until the weekend. At the end of town, where the river meets the land, it unfolds. On the weekend we arrived some big named singer greeted an enormous audiance [View Full Entry]

We travelled to Colonia del Sacremento in Uruguay by ferry from the port in B.A. It only took an hour and we were in a town listed as national heritage. It is small, quiet and beautiful here! The cobbled old streets, cool old houses... really cute...... but not that much to do here besides walk around taking photos for a day.... and our hostel is really cold..... and there is a guy staying here that is really annoying!!! So we´re off to Montevideo! I´ve joined the story of these two cities together as we flew through them! Montevideo was pouring with [View Full Entry]

I´m not usually a big city person.... but buenis aires is fantastic. Although it´s quite obvious that living here would be difficult if having to earn the argentinian peso... there is so much to do here on a holiday! Each part of the city is quite different from the rest, from San Telmo with its cobbled, dark streets and antique shops, to the parks and modern bars/restaurants along the wide streets of palermo. The buses are confusing and there is dog shit everywhere but it is beautiful here! We explored a lot of the main areas of the city... the markets.... [View Full Entry]

We have just spent a week in the most amazing place! El Calafate is our first stop in Argentina. We came here to see the glaciers.... and they are stunning! We stayed at America del Sur which is situated on a hill that overlooks Lago Argentina. We chilled out on the first day and explored the town. 2nd day we went to the Perito Moreno Glacier!! It is 30-60m high, 4km wide and 30km long!! Absolutely unbelievable! Although it is low season due to their winter the weather was great, chilly but fine... we went on a boat that went within [View Full Entry]

Nothing much to write here, but wanted you all to see how cool this bus stop is!! It´s more of a coffee, food break stop just after entering Argentina! Unfortunately for us, we didn´t have any Argentinean money yet, so we had to stick to our ham and cheese sandwiches prepared earlier!! What a view!!! [View Full Entry]

And looking in the other direction!
And in the other direction...
That´s our bus!

We arrived in Punta Arenas, in Patagonia, yesterday by plane..... the view from the plane of the Andes and the aerial view of Punta Arenas was beautiful! On our first morning it snowed, which was really cool but also really cold!! My face, fingers and toes froze whenever we left the house! But we braved the cold and walked around the town today... although the cold drove us back to our place late in the afternoon! We didn´t get to do the standard tourist visit to their cemetary (!) as it was just too far to walk with frozen toes. And [View Full Entry]
