Myself and Dulce have packed in our jobs to go and see some of the world - Dead excited and pretty nervous!

That was 5 years ago, life has very much changed; we're married with a 10 month old - but still like having adventures! A little catching up on pics and new travels to come :-)

Ok, its official - this is the most beautiful place that I have ever been in my entire life. Its stunning and amazing and a perfect postcard of everything that you picture a paradise island in the south pacific to be. But its much more then that, its much more then the forty degree temperatures, the volcanic mountains covered in lush green palm trees, the umteen tones of blue and green of the crystal clear water, the coral reefs that create a beautiful lagoon around the Island, the tropical fish, the french speaking chilled out locals(not to mention the french cooking), the lack of mainstream tourists with over sized cameras and tour buses. Moorea (which I'm told is not even the nicest Island) mixes all this with hundreds of other great bits - like the ... read more

We caught an early bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap for our last few days in Asia and to see the temples Angkor before heading back into Bangkok and then to Oz! Man it’s flown by! The bus was pretty uneventful, just miles of flat, green land and forests - I know I should be appreciating the scenery more but after three months you start to take things for granted. As we drove into the bus station at Siem Reap you could see the absolute commotion as tuk tuk drivers and touts jostled and elbowed each other for room around the bus! It was complete madness and with no armed guard around the bus it began to descend into anarchy with locals arguing with each other for who got to carry your bag. Luckily enough ... read more

Hey Everybody, Hope your all well, glad that the king was home for a visit!! Can't believe that the Pool didn't stuff Sheffield United at the weekend. We are currently in the 'pearl of asia' Phnom Penh in Cambodia. We caught a bus here yesterday from Saigon in Vietnam to Moc Bai at the border. We're getting used to pretty long bus journeys so it was a pretty straight forward through CuChi (famous for the tunnels), we played with more kids (we've moved up in the world from adopting animals to just taking kids (well if its good enough for Angelina and Brad!). When we got to the border we were given the usual no instructions at all as the bus just pulled up in a restaurant car park. Moc Bai is a typical dodgy little ... read more

What a cool little town. Like an oasis in the crazy world of Vietnam. We stopped here and chilled out by the beach for a few days, just watching the fishermen in their tea cups and the odd westerner shooting around on a kite board! Practically had the whole place to ourselves. Did some sandsurfing and just cruised round the markets and towns in our clapped out motor bike! Will be going back... read more

Okey Dokey so I'll keep it brief - we caught a night train from Hanoi which was a nightmare - 6 hard bunks in a room smaller then my backpack! and we were the ones in the middle with old Vietnamese men above and below us coughing, farting and generally pleased with themselves having come to Hanoi for the day! To top it all we got the news that Tony's heart op had to be cancelled at the last minute! Dulce was just about resigned to going home! Anyways despite it all we got some sleep and woke up in Hue - which is a town with a lot of history; both the Chinese and the Americans were in hoooge battles with the Vietnamese for this town and lost. BUT we decied to keep on going. ... read more

So this is a very late entry - written from Darlinghurst in Sydney rather then Vietnam - but screw it, its worth filling in the blanks, if only because I have drank that much there may be no other way to remember it!! So, we hauled our asses out of our deluxe suite at the Bangkok Marriot Hotel and Spa (hardcore travellers!!) popped a couple of immodium, said a prayer that Air Asia would have no delays and soft toilet roll and then grabbed a tuk tuk to the airport. We both started to perk up on the plane and the views coming into Vietnam where absolutely beautiful - I've stuck some pics on here. We arrived at a very new, flash and seemingly empty Hanoi airport. It was by no means a precursor for what ... read more

So we got to the Marriott and lushed it up with room service, a bath, free toiletries and robes don't you know! Tony and June (Dulces folks) turned up the next morning earlier then we had expected and instead of being at the airport gleefully waiting for them, we were firmly ensconced in our super soft king-size bed with cable TV and views across the Chaya Phraya river! We spent the day in or around the hotel as Tony and June got over the jet lag, made a quick trip on the sky train up to the Chatuchak market then back for more room service! You’ll notice a theme starting! The next day we took a river taxi past the grand palace and through the canals around Bangkok. We passed fish farms with massive fish practically ... read more

Hey everyone, Hope you're all well? Hope the states went well mam??? Anyways we're in Vietnam at the moment and I am trying to catch up on the blog so I'll get on with it. We crossed the Mekong back into Thailand into a one horse little town called Chang Kong, it was a surprise how developed Thailand and one bank of a river was from the other side. Straight away you are back to transport links that more or less function, seven elevens, everyone speaking English and a general sense of having moved forward in time about twenty year - not necessarily for the better either. We were heading to Chiang Mai and maybe Pai, if we had enough time, before heading south to Bangkok to meet up with Dulces folks. We caught a local ... read more

Hello Everyone, Ok, so obviously its not the 15th of July, its about a month later!! Sorry I've been crap this last month at updating this thing - we have been moving quite a bit and haev struggled to find decent places to load the pics up on the net, and lets be honest without he pics, its just me prattling on (saying beautiful alot!) We were really really sad to leave Vang Vieng - The place absolutely rocks and everyone that we've met since that has been there, really raved about it! Anyways, we caught a minibus up to Luang Prabang - we didn't see any of the famed bandits on the roads. Just the usual manic driving, overtaking trucks on hairpin bends going up steep hills and in the cloads so you can't see ... read more
