Well it´s been a while, friends, and I have turned 25. It´s not so bad, after all. I haven´t written a blog for some time because I´ve been messing around putting my pictures up. Soon we will be marking the historic day of my birthday. Last year I spent it in Madrid, and they declared a national holiday, and everyone got the day off, and we had a big march and stuff. Some people say it is a coincidence, because it is also Christopher Columbus day, but it wasn´t! My Birthday, Oct 12, marks the day Columbus sailed the ocean blue. So much is wrapped up in that. But hey everyone, I am alive and well, made it to Mexico city and it was a delightful time! Hola de todos! Tess and I just had a relaxing week at the beach in San Carlos. It was just what we were looking for--a small, quiet beach town. We got to do a lot of stretching, swiming, soaking up sun. Every day was beautiful, while down south, in Mazatlan and Chihuahua, they were getting pounded by rain and flooded. Not a hint of that. But tonight we take the sleepless ride down to Mazatlan, dodging hurricains, because there are suppossed to be quite a few more coming! Just thought of something. ON the busride from Tecate to Mexecali, you go over these really cool, rocky mountains. The road winds down for miles, and you see it snaking below you. You also see unfortunate cars that have gone over the edge and rolled into a pile of twisted metal. I wonder about those cars, there were hundreds of them. Are they all unfortunate drivers? Or are some rigged and flung off, being worthless and old? I suspect many are accidents. These cliffs are steep as can be, and the bus just turns on down. Hello world, what is up_ um the characters are being funny. So, we made it down to Guaymas. The internet cafe stereo is blasting hotel california, first in spanish, now in english. First, we were going to go down the baja, but the travel was looking difficult so we went to the mainland. We spent a night in Tecate, that was pretty cool. Hola everyone. This is a rushed journal entry as I await the bus. I have about ten minutes a little less actually. Tess and I were really sketched out about the room last night. We´ve been staying in some pretty ghetto hotels, but this one topped them. We each had our own single bed and the paint was peeling off the walls. However, I liked the bathroom colors---flourescent pink and orange... Tecate is cool. We walked around the park on sunday, all the locals were hanging out.
