On the 10th September 2005 we joined the Royal Caribbean liner “Legend of the Seas” at Southampton for a cruise around the Mediterranean. This a fair size ship of 70,000 tons, carrying 1800 passengers, the QE2 is 70,327 tons and carries 1900 passengers. Compared with other liners the cabins are small and onboard facilities are a bit lacking but this is reflected in the cost of the tickets. Our cabin was 170 sq ft, most liners are at least 200 sq ft and a luxury line like Holland America 5 star has a minimum of 230 sq ft.
