And certainly the best blog entry by far!!!
Hola Nick, You are indeed waxing lyrical in this blog entry. Did "Bagsy" warn you to "Beware the black spot" perhaps? Your descriptive passages have taken on a new hue and your powers of observation capture a sense of time and place rather well. Remove the Americanism "gotten" from your otherwise excellent vocab and with some editing all this will one day become publishable. The folks at home continue to be in awe of these intrepid adventures and wish you well in their continuance. What, no Indian princess in the frame yet? We live in anticipation. Keep safe and well. El Jefe, Moth, Bon and Charlie

Busy busy busy
At least you get to enjoy your time there. I've been spending a week between Missouri and Texas, for Christmas and all, catching up with friends, and I just spent another week in St Louis for that missionary convention - which was mind-blowing by the way - and I'm in the airport now, wating to start a day-long journey back to France, where a 2-week long exam period awaits me in a few days. But anyway. Odd encounters... that's also what make the trips worth it ! Good luck with the rest and enjoy the sun and the farniente while you can, man ! Happy New Year also !

Our path
Nick, Your compassion does you credit. I believe we (all of us creatures) have our own path and we can walk beside others but cannot "do it for them". Gosh! you have had more adventures in 10 days than I have in a year - looking forward to the next installment.

Great adventures ! Man you make me wanna travel ! As for the dog, all this makes me think of something. See this dog inspires you compassion and disgust at the same time. And even though you e reluctant to touch it, you still want to save it, even if that means following him all the way to that road. Hes not coming to you to ask for anything, though he clearly needs help. Well thats how it is with God and men. We inspire him disgust (because of our sins) but he still has compassion for us. And even though we didn ask him for anything, though we need him, he came all the way and touched us, and offered us redemption. Maybe its just too late for this dog anyway. You can save all you want. Maybe all you can do is show it compassion. But if you really want to, you can always pray God. For that, you don need to become a christian or anything. Its written that God takes our burdens. So just give it to God, and he will take care of it. Anyway, wish you a lot of good times !

Wellington
Hi Nick, The temp rose to an awkward 24deg to day. We are not used to that sort of heat way. Amy is with her friend Tansy, who has fallen in love with an artist. Currently 4 of them are renting a house in the mountains in Ecuador for a few months. Amy is due to have a sojourn at the sea, and will take up teaching English classes to earn extra money so as to pursue her travels to other countries in South America. I hope that helps.

All the best Nick. I am sure you are going to discover lots of interesting places and perhaps even find out if the myth about locals eating moneky brains is true. Adios Amigos

Man you're so lucky
You make me wanna travel soooo bad. I know what you mean about south america being still magic. Somehow even though I've never been there I can feel it's still untamed, uncivilized, challenging, simple life there is adventurous - something that was killed here in Europe, our dreams of wild grandeur, smothered, fled to other continents. Hope I'll go there some day. Just might, after all I speak spanish and want to be a missionary, so... Anyway, thanks for the update ! It's always cool to read you, it's like I'm there for 30 mns. Keep having fun, be wild but not foolish. Vini
