Entry 6 The trip is over, but I feel I need to write this, to get some closure. As of July 2nd, Juan Ponce de Leon, my captain, is dead due to that arrow wound. They are planning to bury him in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I am currently on a ship heading back to Europe and I am not obligated to write this, but as I said before, I need to, to have some closure. However, there really isn't anything to say about the trip I haven't already told you. I guess I'll talk about how I think Leon will impact the future. Well first off, we know about Florida and it know has a name. Leon will probably inspire other people to settle Florida and maybe inspire others to search for the fountain of ... read more

Entry 5 A lot has happened since my last entry. We have since landed on a new island, Andros Island, searched for the fountain of youth, and had no luck. Leon left the islands and headed for Spain. I stayed here, trying to examine the wildlife and keep logs of them. However, Leon came back with more ships and more men. He was being driven by the thought of settling Florida and searching for that acursed fountain of youth. I was still part of his crew, so I had to go along. We sailed from Borinquen to Florida, up the west coast, just as before. Leon informed me that I would be rewarded for my loyalty to him by leading one of the war parties. Me. I'm a pacifist! I tried as hard as I could ... read more

Entry 4 A lot of events have taken place scince my last writing. We explored the west coast of Florida, which has been speculated not to be an island, but part of "Asia". The land is not that as explained by Marco Polo however, and these natives are to primitive, and to different from the discription in Marco Polo's book to be true Indians. The last part was just my speculation, however it has evidence to back it up. We have mapped the area to the best of our abilities, shown here: Leon and some other footsoldiers explored the area to investigate the area for settlement. I am glad I was not part of that search party. They encountered natives. They say that these natives were unlike the ones they had encountered on previous islands, and ... read more

Entry 3 I really shouldn't be the guy to predict the weather. We hit some really rough currents on our trip up the eastern coast of Florida. Nearly toppled our ships over. They were like circular currents, constantly pulling you inward, only they were coming in every direction. A deckhand on board had some paints and drew an illistration of this so called "whirlpool": After seeing these strong currents, Leon named the area Cape Canaveral, or Cape of Currents. Glad he didn't throw in any hebegebe magic talk into the name. You can tell I still don't believe in the whole fountain of youth thing right? Well I have good reasons. There is no evidence to support this theory except some talk from natives. Personally, I think they overheard Leon talking about it one day and ... read more

Entry 2 About one month has gone by since my last entry. Not the most exciting month. Mixed weather, few sick crew members, a lot of complaining. The usual. We sailed for thirty days before spotting land. We anchored on easter, and after seeing all of the flowers, Leon named the area Florida, from the Spanish term "Pascua florida" or flowery easter. Pretty creative guy, eh? We spent the day mapping out the area, searching for supplies, and searching for the fountain of youth. I don't get it, is it supposed to be just a stream, or is there a marble fountain that magicly was place there. Probably just a stream. Hopefully there will be so many false alarms that Leon will just stop looking. Don't blame me, a magical fountain that makes you live eternally ... read more
