Day 17We caught a bus to La Placita where we watched as they butchered a cow on the street with an axe. We got back on the bus and continued on to Lazaros Cardenas where we walked 1 block and immediately caught a bus to Zihuatanejo. It was a long day of riding the winding coastal highway 200. Zihuatanejo is a collection of a small group of beaches most of which are connected by a pleasant windi http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Guerrero/blog-364859.html San Jaun de Alima Day 15 was a travel day we caught the bus from Guadalajara to Colima passing by 2 volcanoes 1 extinct and 1 still active. Then on the next bus to Tecoman Laura felt like Sandra Bulack in the movie speed as the bus driver did not reduce his speed to less then 130 Km regardless of how tight the mountain turns were. Nevertheles we arrived at Tecoman and immediataly caught a bus to the small coast http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Michoac-n/blog-364827.html Guadalajara home of Tequila Sombreros and Mariachis Day 12We took the ultimate class bus to Guadalajara. We booked into Hotel Frances which was the first hotel in Guadalajara. Built in 1610 the court yard which is currently a bar was originally stalls to hold the guests horses. We were thrilled to be in such a beautiful hotel and we thought we got it at a great price only to realize that late at night there is a disco in the adjoining building http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Jalisco/Guadalajara/blog-362096.html Guanajuato. An unforgetable town yet we keep forgetting the name of it. Day 10 is a travel day we couldnt go directly to Guanajuato from Morelia we had to go to Irapuato first then catch a bus to Guanajuato. We debused in Irapuato walked into the terminal bought 2 tickets for Guanajuato walked back out got on our bus and left. We werent there 5 mins. Old Guanajuato is built in the crevis of a mountain. In order to maintain the beauty of the city tunnels http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Guanajuato/Guanajuato/blog-362085.html Amazing Morelia Day 8 was a travel day we arrived at the bus station at 945 and the attendent informed us the next bus would be leaving in 5min. We made the mad dash to catch the 950 bus. We reached Morelia at 200 and caught a taxi to our hotel Posada Don Vasco. Morelia built in 1541 is a beautiful colonial city complete with numerous cathedrals and museums. It took us off guard as we were not expect http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Michoac-n/Morelia/blog-361273.html Into Thin Air Day 6The ride to Toluca started off beautifully we were weaving thru the mountains of Morelia. While traveling thru heavily forested mountain sides we would pass thru several grassy pastures filled with horses and cows lazily grazing the day away. We also passed some small villages that seemed to be in the middle of no where and lost in time. You couldnt help but wonder how different your lif http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Estado-de-Mexico/Toluca/blog-361264.html Eternal Spring Weve added photos to our previous blogs if you want a peek.Day 4 was a travel day to Cuernavaca. We had a great bus no chickens allowed. It was air conditioned and we watched 2 movies. Although it cost 60.00 CDN we were glad we didnt drive because it would have cost us 50.00 in tolls. We settled into Hotel Colonial then headed out to hang out at the zocalo. We thought we found great se http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Morelos/Cuernavaca/blog-359749.html Finally in Sunny Acapulco Day 2 was rather uneventful the plane arrived on time we left on time and landed in a typical day in Acapulco. 30 Degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We excaped the gouging taxis fares just to discover no taxis would pick us up on the road outside the Airport. We decided to take a local chicken bus complete with holes in the floors and no glass in the windows. The Woman in front of us skillf http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Guerrero/Acapulco/blog-359483.html Final Destination 4 Having flown AA twice in the past 5 years and both times having issues with mechanical problems with the plane we werent surprised to find that when we arrived at the air port at 430 am that our flight had been cancelled due to mechanical problems. The first attendent placed us on stand by for another flight to Chicago but apon arriving at our gate we were informed we were dreaming if we thoug http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Guerrero/Acapulco/blog-358785.html
