The last few weeks have been very very hectic trying to get all the end of semester assignments done. Quite a few late nights to get essays done followed by quite a few late nights celebrating the finishing of those essays. The day the essay was due was of course the obligatory afternoonnight where the majority of the politics departme http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/West-End/blog-393722.html Paris After the quick trip to London we headed through the Chunnel over to Paris. The trip was quite quick and easy but I was a little disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting but the Chunnel isn't very entertaining. You're essentially just going through a tunnel for 20 minutes and they didn't even announce any sort of warning. I think it be much better if it was one of those glass tunnels like t http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/France/Ile-de-France/Paris/blog-385487.html London So the last 2 weeks have been pretty hectic over here. My family mom dad and sister came over and I met them in London last Friday and we hung out there for a few days before heading over to Paris for a few more and then finally back to Glasgow for my last week of classes and for me to show them around for a few days. Anyways I'll split this up into two posts over the next few days so check bac http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/blog-383405.html Six Nations Rugby and Queuing Hello everyoneMeant to write this up sooner but I've been a little distracted with things over here as it is the end of the semester. On that front things are going fairly well and everything is just starting to get wrapped up 2 weeks left of classes and then all that's left is the dissertation.Last weekend a group of us I think there were around 12 of us went over to Edinburgh to see the Six http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Edinburgh/blog-379955.html Snow poker and general goings on in Glasgow Hello everyoneIt's been a little while since the last update mainly because I'm lazy and there hasn't been too much to write about and for that I apologize.School has been going fairly well and the first semester is officially over as papers for those class have all been handed in. Now being half way through the second semester or at least close enough I can say that my classes are all quite http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/West-End/blog-372364.html Back in Glasgow Hi everyoneSo I go back to Glasgow a week ago after spending about a month in Canada for the Christmas break. It was good to be home but I guess it's back to work for me.The trip back wasn't too bad except that Heathrow was covered in a nice layer of fog that made taking off impossible so I was stuck there for an extra two hours making my entire layover 6 hours long. It could have been worse tho http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/West-End/blog-364789.html A Catalan Christmas So I know I said the last post would be the last one for a while but I found out a Christmas tradition that is too great not to share. So today was the last day of classes for the semester and the entire class prof and all went out to the pub for a few drinks. As the group began to dwindle a few of us decided to go out to get some pizza for dinner. There was me David from Ayere the Langley of G http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/West-End/blog-351344.html Winding down. Hello everyoneSo I don't really have a lot to update but I figured I should sneak in one more before I'm back in Canada.Since the last post which apparently was almost a month ago I've mainly been working on getting my essays over here done which I'm glad to say they are I wasn't out of school for that long before coming here technically only for the summer but that last semester was a bit o http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/West-End/blog-350709.html Costumes elections and media moguls Hello everyoneSo it's been a while since the last post and that would be because not too much has been happening that's been news worthy and also because I've been quite busy trying to avoid writing essays Hey guess what I'm not doing right now.Halloween over here was quite a fun event. I along with about half of my class went over to a friends house to celebrate. It was a good time and ther http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/blog-342579.html Banking in Scotland Hey everyoneSo there isn't much going on for me to tell you about so I think the next few posts might just be about day to day life in Glasgow. So Banking is the UK is difficult for someone from overseas. I tried to set up a bank account first thing when I got over here but that didn't really work out. For starters you need to be aware that debit cards aren't the same as in Canada over here they' http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/blog-336486.html Around town Hey EveryoneSo I thought I'd share some pictures from in around the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery which is conveniently only about a 10 minute walk from my place and free so not a bad way to spend and afternoon. The building is split up into two areas where the bottom floor is a museum and the top is an art gallery. The museum is your basic museum fare animal skeletons stuffed animals s http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/blog-333292.html Time Travel Thursday Arsenal v. Blackburn Hey everyoneIt's quite late here or early depending on how you want to look at it and I'm just watching the VP debate now and thought I would do a quick update and upload some old pictures. While in London my Dad and I went to go see Emirates stadium where Arsenal plays and did a tour there. It was really quite amazing to go behind the scenes of such a high tech stadium. I think the stadium is http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/blog-330269.html Gettin settled Hey EveryoneSo I've just been getting myself settled in and setup over here. A lot of things take a ridiculous amount of time to do over here but there will be more on that later. So far I've only had one class here and it was alright it was a class on research methods so it wasn't the most thrilling 2 hours of my life. The last couple of days were spent doing orientations here and I got to me http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Glasgow/blog-326977.html My room in Glasgow and various happenings Just a note The next few posts will be a little out of order as we tool pictures using two different cameras and I need my Dad to email me some photos before I do some postsAlright so we arrived in Glasgow late on the 14th after a long train ride from London. The train was around 6 hours as we went North.
