Hey there! Not a whole lot of news since last night. Were lazy and just went to the beach again today. Wow are those waves amazing. We tried to find a disposable waterproof camera to take pics of us in the breakers, but no dice. The waves can be pretty intimidating, won't hazard a guess as to the height, due to my horrible estimating skills, but they're big! On to Corcavado and the Osa tomorow. May be out of touch for a number of days, no idea how many though, depends if we stay in Puerto Jimenez tomorow night or not. Anyway, avoided getting to badly sunburnt today, although Tyler was much less fortunate-intelligent with the sunscreen. Well, on to Cahiuta after the osa, will be in touch and hopefully more pics! happy semana santa and ... read more

Hey there all! Will once again try to keep this short, as now that I've created a facebook acount, I'm now checking facebook and reconecting with high school friends and such, checking my e/mail, and doing this! But I can't complain, really, here in Uvita. Its a great little town about 17 km south of Dominical on the Pacific. Great long beach, not exactly deserted, as it's semana santa, but it's not too bad. The surf is great to play in, although you have to be carefull of the curent, and the water is so warm that its not even refreshing! Played tonns of beach socer today, there are tonns of games going on all over the place at low tide, and everyone is very inclusive when it comes to soocer. ·Didn't even get badly burnt! ... read more

Well, we are still feeling the effects of chiripo, and I´m still not walking right, I think coming down was almost as hard! ANyway, actually need to keep this short this time, as we habve to get to our last spanish lesson. Ithas become much more difficult, still things that we learnt in school, but the more complicated stuff none the less, and much has dissapeared it seems. Anyway, will try to pack the books inot my bags and take them with me. So, as it stands now, we are planning to go to Uvia, a smaller beach town just south of Dominical, for Semana Santa, Thur and Fri, then on to Corcavado for some unknown length of time, then possibly over to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo before croosing the brder. That will probably change many ... read more

Hey everyone! We're actually in San Geraldo, but it's not on the list of choices, it's about 40 min by fast taxi from San Isidro. Anyway, so much to say, I'll try to keep it short, but will probably fail miserably. So, we hiked Mt Chiripo this wknd, and it started in San Isidro on Fri with our spanish teacher, who is amazing, because we couldn't have done it without him. He called the park rangers to find out how many tickets were left for the day, and when we found out there were only 6, and the bus had already left, called a "special" taxi for us, who gave us a great price, only about $24 to drive us very quickly, and beat the bus with the other tourists on it, to the ticket booth. ... read more

Hey there. Not a whole lot of new knews from me today, in town for spanish once again. We plan on hiking Chiripo this wknd, so will probably leave tomorow afternoon, to stay near the base for the morning. Have been seeing lots of "Jesus Lizards", not sure what their real name is, but it's pretty neat to see them run on the water. Saw a decent size iguna today as well, down by the river. We went and kicked the soccer ball around on the local field which is only about a ten minute walk from the farm, but it was pretty dead, no other people to play with, so it was just the two of us, but that was ok. Well, I think that's all for now, I'm off to look for more soccer ... read more

Hey again! Back in town for spanish lessons, and today's are at four, and we had to take the 12:30 bus, so we have some time. I realized what a few of the things that I havn't told you about are. Firstly, one of the reasons, besides my camera, for staying longer than planned at the College is that we just happened to be there for the official Inoguration. Apparently, although I had no idea of this until the event, it wasn't technically a Collegio del Mundo Unido ( United World College) it was still an SOS Childrens' Villiage, althoug it had been functioning as a world cololege for some years. Anyway, it was really neat to be able to be ther for the actual event. All the students dressed in the traditional cloths from their ... read more

Hey all! Well, I have thought of tonns of things to write over the weakend, and have of course forgottten most of them by now. Anyway, we started our spanish lessons today, and I'm pretty excited about it. Our teacher is great, and it is only Tyler, the teacher, and myself, so it is pretty concentrated. We are doing 8 2 hr classes, Mon, Tues, Thu, Fri, so I should have many chances of wirtiing, especially with the internet so cheap! Wel, a few people have asked a lot about the farm, so here isa a bit about it. We work Mon to Fri, 4 hrs a day. It'd pretty relaxed, we can work 2 2hr shifts if we want, or any other variation. We usually get up at 7, as it gets to hot in ... read more

Hey everyone! Well, we are in San Isidro, about 3 hrs bus ride south west of San Jose. The farm seems great, we work 4 hrs a day mon to Fri, and pay $7/day for room and board. Their are five dogs to play wish, a wonderfull river that we swim in many timjes daily, and where I saw a "jesus lizard" yesterday, the ones that can run on water! The internet here is amazing, about 50 cents an hour! So I guess, I have no excure for not keepiong in touch! We came into town today to get some extra groceries that arn't provided by the farm, aka meat and beer, and of course to get macheties! We had a choice of about 4 or 5 different shapes/lengths, and fianlly both settled on one that ... read more

Well, still not sure how this wil work, but thought I'd post our plans. For those who don't already know, my camera isn't working properly. The zoom has malfunctioned/broken, and I can't ake any pictures at all. And due to the Catholic culture here, everything was closed, so I am planning on going right at nine tomorow mrning and hoping they can fix it in a day, so that we can pick it up on our way back through San Jose to go to the farm. Otherwise, we may wait until tomorow, if they say it will be fixed then, or get them to mail it to me, or get Nicole to pick it up and mail it. We'll see. But I may not be in as regular contact as I won't have easy free internet ... read more
