So this May I'm going to be heading back to York. When I graduated from highschool I decided I wanted an adventure, and (at 18) I moved out and over the atlantic to London. After a week in London, I went for an over-night trip to York. Why? Because my grandmother grew up there, and I wanted to see her hometown! I went for a night, stayed for a week, and was still there 8 months later. It was definitely one of the best times in my life. I met such amazing people (mostly travelers, but also some locals) and had some great experience working and living in York. It's much different than London, and because most people who come to "work in England" go to London, it was great to get to experience a different ... read more

So I've decided to go to Greece after all. It's more expensive to get to.. but when you get there, it's cheaper. And I really am looking forward to some fun in the sun, so I think it's going to be the perfect place to go. Who knows when I will be able to get back to Greece anyway? Now, there are a few things that I love about Greece. Firstly, I love the food. Greece has the traditional Greek food items that we all know and love, the fresh seafood, calamari, tzatziki, and all of that, but some things you wouldn't think of. Like Greek pastries. Not just spanakopita, but cheese pies, and potato pies. And it's cheap. There's also Gyros sold on every corner (basically the Greek version of a kebab), and you can ... read more

I've been away from this site for SO long, and I really think it's time that I got back into it, so here it my first post, of many more! So I think that the most difficult part of traveling, and some may not agree, is deciding where you want to go. I'm sooo indecisive! There are so many places that I'd like to go, and there never seems to be enough time OR money to do all of it. (Maybe that explains why I've been to Europe so many times?) Anyway, I am going back to Europe (Yeap, for the 6th time). And I love Europe. The issue is, that I have enjoyed so many places there that whenever I go I always want to go everywhere i've already been PLUS all the places I ... read more

I'm Actually not in Surrey.. but oh well.. haha.. So my trip is nearly at it's end.. I have to say, for the first time.. I am actually quite happy to be going home, and missing some of the creature comforts.. Not to say I haven't loved traveling... but I think it might be time to get back to reality and start working again *sigh*.. I'm in London, in a random internet cafe, awaiting the arrival of one of my friends and I can't help thinking.. 2 days and I will be sleeping in my own bed, and be able to eat actual food for once.. Although, to be honest, I haven't been completely deprived on this trip.. the budgeting hasn't exactly gone as planned.. but that happens.. I was sitting on a ferry going around ... read more

So, we are back from our aegean cruise through the Greek islands! To highlight, we went to Mykonos, Kos, Syros, Paros, Kalymnos, and Bodrum in Turkey. It was a budget cruise put on by the budget airline company; easyjet. And it was worth every penny. Booking ahead, for two people, getting your own room with a bathroom and everything, it was about 112 pounds, or 224 dollars. That's about 112 dollars per person. Which if you think about it, is less than the price of accomodation for 6 nights most of the time. So it was a bargain. Food is not included, but it's actually not that expensive aboard, and the good thing about the cruise, is that it sails in the early morning, and you get to spend all day, and most of the night, ... read more

Well, So I have made my way from spain through italy and finally on to Athens, where I am waiting out until I catch my cruise... tommorrow.. so not so long. Its amazing how hot it is here. Its incredibly incredibly INCREDIBLY hot, at a scortching, skin burning temperature of about 40 degrees. Funny thing is.. supposedly, it's cooler today, than it was yesterday.. but you coulda fooled me. We hiked up the mountain to the Acropolis today.. unfortunately we were detained by a photo shoot and an interview, as, I always am of course, so left later than expected.. and were at the top of the hill at the height of heat which is noon. Maybeee not the smartest thing to do.. and yes you probably agree.. funny thing is, that may have not been ... read more

MADrid is one of those places that is constantly compaired to Barcelona. Alot of people say that if you love Barcelona you will hate Madrid and vice versa. As most people know, I LOVE barcelona.. very much thank you! But to be honest, I definitely did not hate madrid. I really like it actually. It´s generally a pretty relaxed feeling town, even with the huge motorways and Grandvia and such. And all the heaps of cars. The hostel we stayed at was actually not that bad. The location was fantastic. Right beside the Opera House, and directly behind that is the Palace. Right close to a metro, and Sol, it´s pretty central to shopping streets, and most tourist sights. The main touristy thing we did in Madrid was go to the Prado museum. Which is actually... ... read more

Well, Oslo is definitely a beautiful city. It is really relaxing, rather small, and extremely picturesque. The air seems a little bit cleaner up that end of Europe, and you feel healthier just walking around with all the extremely fit norwegians! Everyone seems to be glammed up at all moments, their outfits relaxed, but accessorised perfectly, with sunglasses, the big bag, earings, and necklace. It's really a beautiful peoples city to be honest. :P My sister who lives in Oslo, had her wedding this past weekend. It was a beautiful wedding. Complete with the fairytale royal wedding dress, and amazing red carpet church isle. It was beautiful, and my sister was beautiful too. I had the best job, of being the maid of honour, and I was extatic! Walking down the isle before her, I felt ... read more

Budapest is an interesting city. It actually is two towns one named pest and one named buda that were on different sides of the Danube river.. and eventually they joined together to make one town... hense.. Budapest. Of the two areas, I think Pest is probably the nicer part. It has the central downtown core with all the nice little squares and the nice old buildings and such, and is a little livelier than Buda seemed to be. The hotel that my mum and I stayed at was not bad. It was on the Buda side, but it was right near castle hill, and basically inches away from the metro station, when we were too lazy to walk anywhere. There was only one problem with it, and that was at the restaurant in the hotel. We ... read more
