Hello again, keep doing new entries so that the locations makes sense!!! Sooo who watched the rugby!!! Whoo hoo!!! Arrived in the lovely Cairns last week and its been fabulous all the way! After needing a little chill time we booked into the same place for 6 nights with a break to head up North... After much chilling by the pool and making this part of the trip feel like a holiday rather than a sweaty, bag lugging, don't know where mwe're going - totally knackering experience!! Which was great!!! The nightlife here is cool and we've met some nice people on our nights out and even fitted in a spot of salsa!! Playing pool, drinking lots and dancing in "Rhinos' til the early hours was our Thursday night special which unfortunately led to a very ... read more

Sooo.... I am soo behind!! Where was I?? Okay - so we headed North the next morning and went straight to Darwin city - the views were awesome, the heat was hot and the pit were sweaty - but that s travelling and so is the need to save money - and so, onto the cheapest backpackers we could find!!! We dumped our sheets in the dorm and hit the pool for a while before heading out for a bite to eat and enjoying the film 'knocked up' with a glass of wine and icecream in an outdoor 'deckchair' cinema down near the beach "where the stars light the screen!!!!" Different but cool :-) Soooo after a not so good sleep - we handed the car back - yet again regretting paying the extra for low ... read more

Hello (again!!) After arriving at Darwin (jesus its hot!!!) we picked up a car and headed straight south 310km to Katherine. No idea where to stay but we knew there was a national park there so sounded good!! Got there in time to find a bed and jump in the pool before heading to the local social club which we could use as we were guests....... felt a little like freaks when we went in - but no food and quite a few bottles of wine meant it didnt take long for us to join in with the locals!! I was voted "Best Legs of the Week" lol!!!!!!! and at the end of the night we were up on stage with the band for group photos (they took pity on us cos we were the first ... read more

Sooooo... whats been going on? Well, Claire arrived here early hours of Monday 23rd and we were tasked with finding a home for a few days and we decided on Perth city. Spent the next few days chilling in Kings Park, taking the ferry over to Perth zoo and partaking in a pub quiz! Didnt do too bad either joint fifth out of fibe other Aussie teams :-) So, hooked up with my cousin on the Tuesday and totally blagged a free morning in their very posh hotel whoo hoo - living the high life and headed into town for a spot of shopping before heading over to Stewart's (one of the guys from Snow Patrol concert) for a spot of dinner, drinks and spa!!! So cool out here (and random too!!!) Spent our last day ... read more

Hello everybody ;-) Just a quick catch up - now in Perth city, been here since Friday and not doing too bad in the big city alone :-) The weather has been great so I've been making use of the bar and the pool and the fab location to Kings Park where I've been walking and having breakfast overlooking the Swan River and doing a wee bit of shopping and enjoying the odd chai latte in Perth city centre x Last night I took the train to the Burswood Dome to see Snow Patrol in concert - weird going to gigs without my usual buddy Ash - but after a couple of wines all was ok :-) People were dead friendly and I got asked to join a group which was cool and kinda nice of ... read more

Hellooooooo, Right, quick update... I've spent the last two weeks down South in a place called Yallingup - about 3.5 hours South of Perth. Absolutely beautiful but it did not stop raining!! Well, actually, it did for a couple of days and this girl was straight down that beach :-0 Most of the time was spent cooking, doing a spot of yoga, walking, watching the oceans and drinking gin and tonics :-) pretty good in all!! The sun managed to show its head just in time for a fab bar b q down on Meelup beach on my last day :-) I am now back up in Yanchep, North of Perth - today was spent in the National Park watching the wildlife and relaxing in the beer garden with a bottle of wine. I am staying ... read more

Well hello, Now writing from good old Oz now, where the rain has finally stopped and the birds are singing! I've been here a week now after my flights from Nelson to Christchurch - onto Sydney then finally the domestic flight over to the West Coast to Perth. I travelled down to a place called Yanchep - right on the beach near a beautiful lagoon which I hope to revisit again before I leave this part of town :-) Travelling further South to Yallingup 3.5 hours South of Perth and over the last week I have been enjoying the delights of Chai Lattes, the sun, the rain, good food and amazing beaches :-) Staying with my cousin Hayley has given me the opportunity to really reflect on this trip and see some amazing sea views. Today ... read more

Hello!!! So, my final entry in the beautiful New Zealand :-( I'm heading over to Australia tomorrow - flying from Nelson to Christchurch, then Christchurch to Sydney and finally Sydney over to Perth on the West Coast of Oz! Weathers looking pretty nice over there at the moment so hopefully I'll be trying my luck at a big of surfing which I hope will prove easier than boarding! Whoo hoo!! So, back to New Zealand and a summary of my last week or so... Me, Ali and Gary drive about 4 hours down to Greymouth which I passed through on the first journey down to Queenstown, but this time it was to catch the Trans-Alpine train across the country from the West Coast to the East Coast of the South Island. Gary took the car and ... read more

Hello, Well - winding up my time in the land of the Kiwis, what else has been going on??? The other week I spent some time down at a local farm getting to know the newly born calves :-) Some were only a few days old, and despite the smell and my fear of anything that's hairy and breaths..... I made my way into the enclosure :-). They were so sweet I just had to upload a picture :-) I have also been trying to make the most of this location to the Nelson Lakes so as I've done Lake Rotoiti - I drove down south again - but this time to Lake Rotoroa. This Lake is a bit bigger so I didn't venture around the whole thing, and being on my own I didnt stand ... read more
