I imagine you're looking forward to the journey homewards for lots of reasons, but feeling sad all the same as this truly has been an epic adventure. I hope in my lifetime I get to do the same. Thanks for all your lovely updates, you should write a book as you really do have a wonderful way with words. Enjoy Singapore. Love Hils x

What a holiday!
Hi Lynne - you've really been through some highs and lows on this holiday and it's certainly something to remember. We have been back in Brisbane for 2 weeks today and it's already like we have never been away. The time just flies doesn't it? Please remember that you are always welcome to visit and stay at our place in Brissie if you ever are back our way (maybe in a few years?). We would love to meet you. Fiona & Anthony

wonderful
So glad you kept going, Lynne. New Zealand deserved you as you're clearly such an interested and appreciative traveller and we all needed to get our fix of blogs and gorgeous photos. Love those artefacts at the museum. Enjoy your last few days over there and then get back here for the spring flowers! Sue x

Last days eh?
Hi L, Another lovely ( almost ) daily entry, what a great way to tell all and sundry about your adventure. I just must do mine this way next time with a blog. How easy is it to upload photos as they make such a difference. Are you travelling with your own computer? And do you just the camera disc into the comp. and go from there.Your expertise makes me feel like such a dunce!! I do know fejoas, Geoff had a bush in the garden in Canberra, cant say theyare any where near the top of a list of favourites! Waves here are huge too at the moment, I have been tumbled a few times lately and i never go out beyond where i can stand up anymore. Not as strong a swimmer as i was! We are trying without success to get a swap in Wales or ireland for October in order to extend our time in Europe by another monther this year. We have Sept in Copenhagen as swap and have decided to go to Germany for all of August with a train pass ( 10 journeys) and just use hotels/hostels etc as we have a return hospitality from a lady who stayed here 18 months ago with her teenage daughter for a few days ( Heidelburg).A lovely, and very clever, lady... a professor of foreign languages at the Heid. Uni. We have sent off maybe 80 requests without a single 'maybe' even!Tis getting pretty close now with only 4 months till we leave for Germany. We have never NOT been organised this close to a trip to europe! I have in my diary that you return to Uk on 3rd April with a few days in Singapore and home by 6th. That first nite in your own bed will be bliss!. Stay in touch as will we. Fondest S ( and G of course)

Not long now!!
I'm going to miss these blogs when you are home next week, perhaps you could continue with them to let me know what you are getting up to at home although washing, ironing, cooking and cleaning won't sound quite the same will it?? Looking forward to seeing you although Chris won't be quite so happy cos he will have to find alternative parking for his car, having use of your driveway has been great for him!!! Will be waiting for you next Wed, got the flight number but do you know which terminal? Much love, as always and safe journey home xxx

Hi Lynne, Have just got a new computor so having a few teething problems. Your blogs are fantastic reading, you will have to put all your travels into a book. So pleased that you enjoyed Invercargill and Stewart Island you now have really been down under. It's a beautiful day here so I'm taking an elderly couple for a picnic to Moke Lake which is on the way to Glenorchy, hope to pick some mushrooms while we are there. Have fun in Auckland and all the best for your trip back home. Looking forward to seeing next time you are in NZ. Love and take care. Will keep in touch. Ross

Homeward bound
Hi Lynne, Great to read your note as always and the undercurrent of fear at returning to the earthquake area was palpable. You are coping really well my friend. And home in a week eh! You'll take a while to adjust I guess we did and we had 6 months away too. But life in Port Macquarie has settled into a summer pattern and i surf every day. The water is still so warm. maureen and I were talking about you just yesterday, fondly i might add! Hoping to be in Uk or Ireland in Oct, no luck yet with a swap, fingers crossed though. And we'll be in germany in Aug with a train pass and hostels, then Copenhagen all of Sept as a swap. Safe travels home and what a truly great trip yiou have had, I am impressed with your organisation and how its all worked so well for you. Well done.we'll perhpas see you later in the year on our next travels. Fondest Susan
