Singer writes well - his stuff on the moral case for aid is convincing (though one hopes people don't really *need* convincing, and that his work is more an intellectual, academic exercise than a call to arms). I'll have to read Animal Liberation.

interesting question - From: unAustralian in Australia
I think that it would be fundamentally Australian to deny someone existence to one's group simply because they are not Australian. Therefore, it is fundamentally UnAustralian to allow all people to become citizens of UnAustralia, as long as they too adhere to the principles of UnAustralianism (like, being a decent human being). I think you can join, mate.

I like your journal. I'm a local people of Trat province. I have seen Koh Chang all of my life, sometimes I didn't like about the development of Koh Chang. In my opinion, may be one day in the future almost the land on Koh Chang will belong to investors.I realized and feel so sad because the one of paradise of my province will be gone. I'm sorry about my English isn't well.

dang right! - From: Wacko t-shirt slogans
hahaha....spot on with the t-shirts! although i've seen a few others that are hilarious as well! one is actually correct in spelling, but it's dang funny anyways! it simply says "my rice crispies made me do it!" i thought it was hysterical, but i guess you'd have to see the guy that was wearing it in order to appreciate it more! anyway, goodluck with your t-shirt hunting! x eva

No accusation! I 'think' what I'm remembering was in a collection of Woolf's journal writings, put together by her husband after she died. The bit you wrote was "it is hard to see how I deserve to live amongst such comfort and ease while I know there are others whose lives are a constant struggle". My bad memory is telling me Woolf said the same thing, referring to the peace demonstrations occuring at the time. Or something. The only other thing I was reading at the time was some eco-feminisim, and I can't recall it being that personal.

Hmm - I'm taking that as a compliment, rather than an accusation of plagiarism! What was it?

Part of what you wrote sounds almost exactly like something I read the other day - Virginia Woolf I think.
