Amalfi Coast

Next stop the Amalfi Coast. As you can see from the photos the reason the Amalfi Coast is famous is for its coastline. We started our journey with a bus ride from Salerno to Atrani where we spent our first night. The bus is the best way to explore the coastline as the roads really hug the cliffs and in some cases overhang giving you jaw dropping views over 50 metre drops. It is quite hard

Sizzling in Sicily

Well since Iceland Irsquove had a busy couple of months. My trip to Italy has been and gone and I loved it and over the coming blogs by the photos you will be able to see why. I originally thought I would only need one for the whole Italy trip but due to over 1000 photos taken that made that a little ambitious But first things first a week after Iceland I moved into a new flat with ori

Icelandic Entertainment

So it was onto my next adventure Iceland. As the name suggests I was expecting it to be pretty cold there but I was pleasantly surprised when I turned up and it was actually warmer than London My first day it was about 2325 degrees. Very nice It didn't last though and although it got cooler there was no need for the thermals I took along.Anyway I landed in Iceland in a place called Kefl

In Bruges

For those of you who havenrsquot heard of it the name of this blog has a double meaning as it is also named after the recent movie namesake lsquoIn Brugesrsquo starring Colin Farrell. In the said movie he says about Bruges lsquoIf I'd grown up on a farm and was retarded Bruges might impress me but I didn't so it doesn't.rsquo Despite this less than glowing recommendation I loved the

Well following my tour of the sporting grounds there has been a lack of sport around. Itrsquos like the country has gone into hibernation waiting for the next football season to start. Oh well only a couple more weeks to go This blog was also going to include my weekend trip to Belgium but I loved Bruges so much that it deserves its own entry.Following my trip to Dover and Canterbury with Le

Well since the last update I have been on the go nonstop. There havenrsquot been any overseas trips and it feels like ages since my last one. I looked at my diary and it was May the 8th so only 6 weeks I donrsquot know how I am going to cope when I eventually make it back to New Zealand. But in the last 6 weeks I have seen a lot more of the UK met some really cool people and had one ve

Well since the last update Irsquove managed trips to two continents flying across the Atlantic to Los Angeles for a week and just recently a long weekend in Menorca a gorgeous island off the coast of Spain.First things first though and it was off on my 10 hour flight across the pond to be quizzed by a thoroughly intelligent individual obviously doing customs work as a night job from his reg

The Chamber of Solstice Secrets

Leaving Derry we headed north up to the coast. Our first stop was the Giantrsquos Causeway where Susie Brooke Sam and I took the scenic route along the cliff for some amazing views. The Causeway is actually a set of rocks all shaped hexagonally that originally stretched all the way to Scotland until the seas rose leaving Ireland as an island apart from Britain. This has given rise to several

Right Irsquom back from Ireland and have managed to survive with my liver intact. Actually I didnrsquot once wake up with a hangover which I think is more down to the lack of preservatives in the locally brewed Guinness than any lack of alcohol consumption. Also this blog is going to be separated in 2. Half because I did so much and there are a lot of photos and half because I want one for

After the sun and surf of Southern Spain it was back to reality in London. Well sort of. It was a good week to come back as Wednesday was Waitangi Day and I think Waitangi Day like most other national holidays is celebrated with a lot more passion when you are actually out of the country. The Australians would definitely agree from what I saw a week or so back on Australia Day. So for the actu

Granada. Yes the small Spanish town of Granada was my first overseas trip of the New Year. It was quite exciting just for the fact that it was an 'unplanned weekend awayrsquo. Leah I were talking about it one Saturday night as something we would like to do at some stage. 12 hours later it was booked and in less than two weeks we would be flying off thereBut first things first since New Years

After reading Leah's very bubbly blog mine is going to be a little bit more sober. Before our New Years trip to Paris and Normandy Leah and I wondered whether Paris would be able to live up to our expectations. For Leah Paris was a city she had dreamed about visiting since she was a kid and for me it was a city that I had heard rivals Rome so high standards indeed. On the way back to the tra

Following our very successful weekend in Amsterdam it was back to work and the countdown to Christmas. 14 working days to be precise. It is looking to be a very busy period with Leahrsquos birthday her party heading up to Leeds several Christmas parties and also Steve and Stew arriving over here for a visit from NZ.The following week from Amsterdam I had tickets to go and see Marilyn Manso

Well after somehow lsquoahemrsquo getting time off work I embarked on a 4 day weekend to my first nonBritish country since leaving sunny Spain and Portugal 4 long months ago. Just thinking back to the sun and the beaches it seems like a lot longer Anyway Friday morning Ben and I made our way to the miniature plane that took across the Channel and dumped us into Amsterdam.
London Leeds and LiveNation

After the defeat at Cardiff I had to suffer the agony all over again every day of the week. Unfortunately I was the token Kiwi in an office full of English who were celebrating their upset win over Australia. So when the World Cup final rolls around it will be the first final not to have one of the Bledisloe nations contesting. After Fiji also lost my support went to South Africa by default.
Standing in what used to be Cardiff Arms Park the scene of many All Blacks triumphs I stood in silence surveying the wreckage of another All Blacks World Cup dream. Around me were the scenes of All Blacks fans crying flags being broken and other fans like me just standing in stunned disbelief. In direct contrast to the French fans who were singing and cheering their team as they did a lap of

Well where to start Itrsquos been a month since Irsquove been back in the UK and so much has happened. Most importantly Irsquove got myself a flat and a job. I managed to find a flat in a pretty cool area with a South African girlKiwi guy couple and most importantly about the place it has Sky So I definitely havenrsquot been missing out on any sport. As for the job I missed out on

After another long flight that included a 6 hour stopover in LA I finally made my way back to London and back to Benrsquos place. It was a bit of a mission with 45kg of luggage as well as a laptop and 8kig of carry on. But I succeeded without losing anything and was ready to set myself up for the next phase of my trip. Mainly organizing a flat and getting myself a job to start getting some muc

After the very long flight back to NZ it was straight into lastminute preparation mode for the most important weekend of Camrsquos life. The stag do. Although saying that I did spend a lot of the first few days just catching up with the people who were left in New Zealand. It was really good to catch up with a lot of the exPMP and a few current who shouldnrsquot be people especially as

My New Home

Well after the scintillating weather from Spain and Portugal it was a bit of a surprise getting into England on two fronts. Firstly the weather had plunged from early 40rsquos and perfect blue skies to early 20rsquos and almost permanently overcast. And the second major surprise was that people here spoke English. Although that might appear blindingly obvious it took a week for my mind to ad
