I don't believe it................................. - From: Homeward Bound
Where has that year gone? Despite the doom and gloom and bad weather here the months have flown by and its been great to read and see your udates from the far flung corners of the globe. What are we going to do without our little bits of sunshine? As you would expect, nothing has changed here! Looking forward to seeing you guys when you are back - Daren, Happy Birthday for next week. Mr Smith, I note with interest that your white water rafting was less eventful than the trip we shared at Vic Falls. Must admit that I'm glad to hear that there were no idiots on this trip trying to strangle you with the saftey rope whilst you tried desperately to get back into the raft - oh well maybe next time. Look after yourself and give Mrs Bear a hug from me. Stuart

News!!!, Tennis is over - England (Scotland) out, Football - England not in it!!........I am sure you did not want to know about this.. The weather not as good as where you are by the looks of things. Half the Journey? seems like a life time for us. Lot of dead badgers in Kingswood.

Update right back atcha... - From: Mission half accomplished
... 'cos I know you'll be gagging for news from back home. *scratches head* Hmmmmmmmmm. There must be something...... *stares out of window* Well; if I was desperate, I could tell you I'm just about the only person left in South London that hasn't been stabbed so far this year, and tomorrow's Wednesday Night Golf Club has been postponed because of a Severe Weather Warning and the imminent prospect of high winds and 2 inches of rain in the locality. But I can't be that desperate - surely there's something I can tell to rival your adventures..... I did see a dead something-or-other by the side of the M2 this morning that looked suspiciously like a Badger - there, how exciting's that?

Mr & Mrs Bear - Now I know that you've been travelling for a while, however sitting on Yorkie's Knob and having a 20 minute dive is just too much information, next you'll be telling us that you're relaxing on Bruce's Deck. Just so you know it looks like our summer has come and gone already - nothing new there then. Look after yourselves and keep the blogs coming.

Hello D2 & Bear. Just a quick note to let you know that back in the UK we're having our Summer today - and very lovely it is too - some mentalist on the radio this morning was talking about 25 degrees by mid-afternoon. Imagine that. I'm going to leave work early and spend an hour and a half sweltering on the motorway to really make the most of it. Yeah; you think about that whilst you're deep sea fishing and living on the beach for a month. Suckers.

On your last leg (not figurativly !) - From: The long and winding road
You've done all that the South Island offers so far, but wait, there's more !! For instance, Lake Wakatipu (Fokertipu) Queenstown is beautiful at this time of year with the trees at the lake's edge turning yellow with the approaching Autumn, the snow capped mountains as a backdrop. You can walk up Queenstown Hill before breakfast as the sun is rising, for a better view. If you would like a challenge, climb up Ben Lomand for an even better view. A three hour trip, each way. Love to you both, take care. Brian and Rosemary.

Great to see you did the Tongariro Crossing and experienced the changeable NZ weather. When you tackle Mt. Cook in the South Island suggest you take the right equipment and preferably have a qualified guide, we loose quite a few Tourists each year on Mt Cook. Great pic's, keep them comiing. Kava & Mozzies - From: (Almost) Paradise Regained
Hi Brian Yeah, we had our first Kava ceremony last night (many more to come I'm sure). Only had 2 cups and not really sure what to make of it. Tina didn't like the smell and the "dirty" rag they used to prepare it with so it may not be our drink of choice in the future. Thanks for the warning about Mozzies. we will make sure we're fully stocked up with DEET before we head off. D&T

Greetings. - From: (Almost) Paradise Regained
Daren have you tried the local brew Kava, never fear it's not alcoholic. It's a narcotic. The drill is:- you are gathered round a large bowl of the stuff with an even larger Figian squatting beside it, you clap three times and are given a cup of it. For each refill you clap three times; when you are unable to place your hands together thee times consecutively you've had enough. Usualy my lips went numb after three cups. Tina you can look forward to meeting, free of charge, the Kiwi version of Mozzi especially in the lower South Island around about the Milford Sound, we call them our Ambassadors, they leave a lasting impression. Love from Rosemary and Brian.

Hmmmm - From: (Almost) Paradise Regained
Sounds like you're having a wonderful time, wish it were me. Will the 2 of you be staying on seperate islands (like the programme) then meeting up once a week to see if you want to stay together? Tina, remember that in order to defrost anything you need to stand on a table and hold the item closer to the sun - works a treat everytime. Been a very poor weekend here in the Channel Islands, wind, rain, fog but fortunately no snow, Crevices or Robson's. Keep well and hope to hear from you again soon.

May you take a little bit of us all with you on your travels. Not in a literal way of course...that would be disgusting, disturbing and give the customs chaps quite a shock ("Why...that would be a bag of human hair and nail clippings").
