jesus christ, what an entertaining 2 days. seriously, insanity in a can. once you cross to eastern europe, it all goes a bit mad, and everything is possible. but first, yesterday. we had a day in the centre of berlin yesterday, which was pretty fantastic. saw lots of berlin wall bits and pieces, incredibly fascinating stuff. there was a memorial that was pretty much made entirely by one guy, who had been imprisoned by the stasi for 10years for some petty crime. it was a memorial to people who had died whilst trying to escape eastern germany over the wall. i [View Full Entry]

ok, advice first and foremost. if you are ever going to get a night train, make sure you reserve a seat. and, more importantly, make sure you reserve a bed. we didnt do either of these, and instead found ourselves walking up and down the train for an hour just trying to find somewhere to sit. eventually found somewhere, and sat. it's pretty damn hard to sleep in those chairs i tell you. so we spent 8hours in a carriage on a train, just sitting and trying to sleep. i managed to get a couple of hours, but this was only [View Full Entry]

lots of trains today, and i mean lots. checked out of the snuffel (sob) at 10am, after a brilliant few days there. if anybody is staying in brugges anytime soon, i really cannot recommend it enough, its a brilliant place. the staff are all brilliant, even if i did manage to kinda insult one of them. a girl from yorkshire strangley enough, complimented me on my orange exploding dog shirt, and then said 'this is where you say nice shirt to me', to which i replied, for some stupid reason, 'yeah, but...'. good work bills, good work. but yes, the staff [View Full Entry]

belgium is bloody superb. got here about 1ish yesterday, found our way to the fantastically named snuffel backpacker hostel, checked in and then almost came at the price of beer. €1.50 for a beer. thats a pound a beer. madness! blimey. anyway, it was el scorcho again yesterday, so we walked about for a bit before coming back and joining the snuffel brugges walkabout tour, which was taken by a very attractive girl called melissa. melissa proceeded to walk us around the sights of brugge, whilst telling us facts about each thing. of course, all of these facts were complete rubbish. well, quite alot has happened over the last 27hours. on arrival back in amsterdam on monday night we were approached by a man who could only really be described as an entire chump. visibly drunk, he proceeded to tell us his story of how he had been in amsterdam for only 2 hours, and had already been mugged, beaten up, jailed and let out. all in the space of 2 hours. he looked like he was going to lamp us. we survived though, and got back to our hostel safely enough. yesterday was another day of walking. went towards anne franks [View Full Entry]
