Winter sunset
This was on 13/07, we went a sunday walk along Elwood beach towards St Kilda. This is a view over the city, the sunset was amazing, this pic was taken on a camera phone.
Hey everyone, Thought it might be time to say a little hello! It's been winter here in oz and we haven't been anywhere too exciting, just enjoying life in Melbourne, working and partying hard. We've had lots of good nights out here and even a few familiar faces stopping by Melbourne. We caught up with Mairi McNicol (old uni pal) and Stevo last weekend which was great fun and then Shaun (ex-SLAC co-worker) staying during the week for a few nights. Always a few malts to be had when he is here. Looking forward to spring and all that brings, our [View Full Entry]

Craig and I said goodbye to the Macleod on Easter Monday and spent 5 nights on our own in Queenstown. Queenstown is a party town, big backpacker place. We didn't visit any of the local vineyards in Central Otago but we did try out a number of the wines at a tasting store where you get load credit onto a card and then you select which samples you want to try. We found the beer to be excellent in NZ, tried lots of Monteiths and local beers at Dux de Lux. They even had alcoholic ginger beer which was very tasty! [View Full Entry]

Queenstown

For Easter weekend, Craig and I flew to Queenstown where we were picked up by Mum and Dad Macleod and spent the Easter weekend in Wanaka. Wanaka is a really nice little place. The house Dad had rented for the weekend was also lovely with loads of space and a big outdoor area to enjoy those NZ wines and beers. We went to the Warbirds over Wanaka airshow on Easter Saturday which was a good day out, if a little cold that day. Easter Sunday, Craig and I decided to do a hill walk so we climbed to the top of [View Full Entry]

Puzzling World!

Hey folks, We thought it was time we did a wee blog to let you all know what we have been up to since Xmas! Summer has been great here in Melbourne, there is lots of things to do and well, we've had a few visitors at Hotel le Fulton shall we say to keep us busy! Over the summer, we went on a wine tasting tour to the Yarra Valley, went to Grand Prix, St Kilda festival, luxury Boat show (we can dream!), Australian Open Tennis, open air cinema, Melbourne Zoo, had loads of BBQ's and got to know more [View Full Entry]

Merry Christmas everyone!
Chilling at the beach in Apollo Bay on Christmas Day. Chilling was right, it was bloody freezing - well it was only 17 degrees but now we have aclimatised that's cold.
We spent 2 nights in Apollo Bay, Xmas Eve and Xmas Day. We then had 1 night in Lorne on the 26th and stopped off at all the beach locations on the way, including Anglesea and Torquay. [View Full Entry]

What a cutey
Apollo Bay View

We drove from Port Campbell to Apollo Bay on Christmas Eve, stopping at sights on the Great Ocean Road along the way - these included The Arch, Loch Ard George and of course, the famous 12 Apostles! We also went a walk in the Otways, and did the 'Otway Fly Tree Top Walk' which is a treetop walk giving you a close up view by walking along a springboard cantilever 25 metres above the ground - and then as if that wasn't high enough, climbing spiral stairs to the top of a 47 metre lookout tower. Yikes! While in the Otways, [View Full Entry]

They looked very nice, the even had a place to park the yacht - one day maybe ;-)!
We set off along Princes Highway to the end of the Great Ocean Road - and slightly beyond as we stayed our first night in Port Fairy. The weather was miserable with lots of rain and wind so it started to feel a little more like xmas! On the 23rd, we went horse riding on the beach at Warrnambool which was excellent. Hi guys, We've been here just over a month now so thought it was time for a blog! As I write this blog, Craig is putting together our BBQ and it's a nice sunny Sunday afternoon - so we hope to head off to the food market and have our first barbie at home tonight! We are settling in just fine. :-) I'll give you a quick idea of what we've been doing: Thu 1st Nov: arrive at 3am, sleep, get bank cards etc and meet Laura and Karl for dinner and drinks! We went flat hunting on the Friday and [View Full Entry]

The Fultons!

Arrived in Hanoi and got a taxi to Dad's friend's house. We had a fabulous time staying with John, Lien and Chi. Lien showed us how to shop like a local and get all the good bargains! Oi Zoi Oi! Dad and I both had the experience of riding on the back of a Hanoi moped which was highly entertaining, interesting and slightly dangerous all at the same time! As well as being treated to some amazing cooking by Lien, both Vietnamese and Western, we were also shown around all the best places to eat in Hanoi. So we were very [View Full Entry]
