| 27th May 2008 Jason | - From: Paraty: Home of my future island. When you get the deed to that castle, give me a call, and I'll ensure it's outfitted with crossbows, cannons, buckets of hot oil and all the trimmings. And I'll throw in a rocket launcher for good measure. That way you can focus on outfitting it with bikini-clad Brazilian babes. |
| 8th May 2008 Jason | - From: Getting High in Mendoza Your consolation prize was that you guys made it up and back without serious incident. We can never take these "safe trips" for granted, especially with the Taliban, the Christian Coalition and Walt Disney trying to steal our souls! |
| 1st May 2008 Jason | - From: By bus, by boat, by car to Uruguay we go! Karaoke competition? Morgan, you're getting soft. I'll bet you even sung in falsetto. What, are you going to shave your legs and join the cabaret when you get home? I'll join you! |
| 8th April 2008 peter | awesome - From: Wind whipped in El Chaltén you lucky bastardo! all that ice, ablation... though i was surprised not to see any penitentes. maybe just not high up enough... anyway that looked like an awesome chapter in your story. Mark is coming back early may!!! just thought i'd let you know, gonna try to greet him at the aeropuerto. |
| 8th April 2008 Catherine | I am so jealous! - From: Wind whipped in El Chaltén I loved Perito Moreno! I am so jealous and wish I could go again! Are you going to Ushuaia? Do you know when you're coming back? It looks like you're having a blast! Hopefully we'll see you when you make it back! |
| 8th April 2008 jason | - From: Wind whipped in El Chaltén Your "jumping for joy" picture is so fantastically gay it should go on a postcard. Heck, if you've got a good enough picture we should print and frame the darn thing. I love it! *winks* |
| 2nd April 2008 The Fun Police | Time and space - From: Lost in Bariloche...well sort of. Where are you really? Sure this isn't a backdrop. You are really in Iowa, aren't you. |
| 2nd April 2008 peter | bastard! - From: Lost in Bariloche...well sort of. i agree with joe... though those were some sweet pics of a hanging glacier. kudos on your trip there buddy. |

| 2nd April 2008 Jason | - From: Lost in Bariloche...well sort of. Are you guys sure you didn't stumble into Austria? That's some beautiful countryside... and you've got a cute pack mule with you there, too! ;) That rocky descent reminds me of the time we did Nutcracker at Yosemite... got lost on the descent and ended up sliding down a gully of loose rock, triggering mini-landslides all the way down. Good thing we didn't have a heavy pack then! Hah! I finally got my postcard from you, woo hoo! Thanks. Looking forward to your return. We miss you here, buddy! |
| 2nd April 2008 Joe | bad for the working man - From: Lost in Bariloche...well sort of. You make me want to quit my job very badly. |

| 15th January 2008 Darren | Rio - From: Goodbye 2007, Hello Rio! Morgan the Organ ha ha I love that. Well that looks like one fantastic New Years. I was there for new Years too, but stuck in a plane :(. I missed the festivities by only a few hours besause I guess I took the cheap flight. Thanks for giving me some idea what I missed out on. Well speaking of babies, Marja just gave birth to little Thomas Murray on Jan 8th. We are very happy and he is doing really well. Keep up the exciting blog and have a Caipirinha for me! Tchau. |
| 10th January 2008 Kristen | - From: Goodbye 2007, Hello Rio! So you are Morgan "the Organ"! Thats what Tim calls you all the time and he has yet to tell me why. Anyway, it looks like you are having a blast! When should you be back in the states? When you are back you need to come see the babies! Jack will be two tomorrow! Eran's girlfriend just had a baby boy on Monday and I don't know if you heard but Ivan and Autumn are having twins. keep in touch! can't wait to meet you! |
| 9th January 2008 Jason | - From: Goodbye 2007, Hello Rio! So... how many of these "Caipirinhas" does it take to get your pants off these days? At least you're past your cross-dressing phase... or are you? I was starting to wonder if you'd been dragged off into the jungle, glad you took the time to post for us. Still climbing? Or, did you sell your climbing gear to pay for all these Caipirinhas you've been drinking? It's only been six months? The time here just drags on without any Morgan around to fill the void :( New Year's here ushered in a series of storms that dumped many inches of rain with near hurricane-force winds. Needless to say, the rock is wet, my favorite trails are mud pits, all I can do at this point is pull on plastic in the gym. Meh. Happy New Year, bud! Hope it's a safe and healthy one for you. |
| 9th January 2008 corbin | ahh....cool! - From: Goodbye 2007, Hello Rio! ..i mean, hot! especially the ass picture in Copacabana. |
| 16th October 2007 Darren | You have fully converted - From: Trekking Through the Jungle of Ilha Grande So you are now wearing the speedos! You have finally converted over. Well done. But where are the girls? |

| 24th September 2007 brendan | sweet - From: Pico da Bandeira: fury theives, freezing temps and an ambulance ride. what a sweet trip |
| 20th September 2007 Darren | Quati - From: Pico da Bandeira: fury theives, freezing temps and an ambulance ride. So you finally had an experience with those pesky quati's. Ha ha. That is Marja's nickname because she screamed ran and dropped all our food in the middle of Foz do Iguacu because she was scared of the quati's. That was funny, like your tent story. But I think they are real cute. So how is the Portuguese after these couple of months? I want to know how long it takes to learn. Have fun and don't upset the quati's. |
| 18th September 2007 corbin | sweet man.. - From: Pico da Bandeira: fury theives, freezing temps and an ambulance ride. wholy crap, i totally could not deal w/freezing temperatures...your hardcore. |
| 18th September 2007 Jason H | - From: Pico da Bandeira: fury theives, freezing temps and an ambulance ride. After reading your last blog, I was afraid it'd be you in that ambulance, but no! Thank goodness. Glad to hear you're still kickin' around. To kill two birds with one stone, why not skin a couple of those fuzzy mammals and make yourself a nice pair of socks? They look to be a bit more substantial than the f*cking marmots we gotta battle in the Sierras... I am starting to get the impression that you enjoy freezing your ass off... you'll have to come share an unplanned bivy with me in Yosemite when you get back! |
| 18th September 2007 Amber | - From: Pico da Bandeira: fury theives, freezing temps and an ambulance ride. I am always amazed by the adventures that you go on! Glad you made it safely and were not the one walked down on a stretcher. I hope you're doing well! (sounds like it) I'm still working on trying to save up enough to come visit... Keep up the blogs, it's awesome getting to read what you're doing! |
| 4th September 2007 Joe | Block Heads - From: Meat, beer and a little bit of street crime. Watch out for those kids. A rerun of City of God might be in order. |
| 1st September 2007 Amber | - From: Meat, beer and a little bit of street crime. What's a trip to another country without a run in with robbery? I'm still proud of you for taking off! And am happy to hear you're staying busy, and at least trying to stay safe. I'm still working on getting my ass there to visit so you're not allowed to go on your climbing trip so I can come there for Carnival! Take care! |
| 31st August 2007 corbin dunn | cool man - From: Meat, beer and a little bit of street crime. sounds like fun! at least no one got hurt. |
| 31st August 2007 Guillermo | close call!! - From: Meat, beer and a little bit of street crime. Wow morgan what happen to your knive!!! , well thankfully nothing bad happened. Well time to start packing a sharp knive when strolling out at night!! The churrascos look delicious!!!! |
| 24th July 2007 Chris Labrecque | Good to hear you are still alive :) - From: Ouro Preto: So many churches, so little time Hard to believe you've been in Brazil for more than a month now... can't wait to hear the details of your trip when you return :) On a traveling note, I may be going to India for a week for work in September. While this little trip does not compete with your adventure, it has an small upside: A weekend in Goa. Things have been the same for me here except I've started doing "crossfit" training at the gym which has made my whole body sore all the time. Have a good time on your next outing and good luck with the new language! Cheers, Chris. |
| 20th July 2007 Darren | Oh Brazil - From: Life in Belo Horizonte Hi Morgan Sounds like you know a little more about Brazil than I do by now. It's a great place! Maybe I will be coming for a few months next year with our baby to learn the language too. It is also very important for me to speak it;). By the way I don't see how you can miss Carnival, killing yourself on a rocky mountain or having the party of your life is a no brainer for me. Cheers mate. Darren |
| 19th July 2007 Jena | BBQ Chicken hearts ARE the best! - From: Life in Belo Horizonte And if you want to work on the dancing thing, I just got back from Belo myself... I know a great dance teacher there! |
| 16th July 2007 brendan | nice and cool - From: Life in Belo Horizonte "The taste of the cashasa" is hella funny dawg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| 11th July 2007 corbin | cool - From: Life in Belo Horizonte man! that looks soo cool. i wish i was climbing in brazil! |
| 11th July 2007 peter | nice - From: Life in Belo Horizonte you finally learned the proper way to say caipirinha! and chicken hearts are pretty good huh? Don't they put that powdery stuff, similar to bread crumbs with parmesean cheese or something? anyway, the climbing sounds awesome, but quite a dilemma between Carnival and climbing Aconcagua. Good luck with that. Ciao porra cara! |
| 10th July 2007 Jason Heimann | - From: First Few Weeks in Brazil I'll admit it... I put the picture on your desktop. C'mon, you can't have a picture of yourself in a chick's tube top and expect to get away with it. Hah! I'm looking forward to more pictures and stories. Crank on that stone, dude! |
| 19th June 2007 joe harrold | - From: First Few Weeks in Brazil glad you made it down safely homes. post more pictures! |
| 19th June 2007 Marja Hickey | Tudo bom? - From: First Few Weeks in Brazil Oi Morgan! Seems you are doing well there. Darren and I are glad to hear that you are doing fine and looks happy. Forro is my favorite dance too, so once you learn it, maybe you can tell Darren how is it. I tried to teach him, but it's complicated, as I'm not that good too. You will make many friends quickly, you will see how different it is. That's what i miss so much : ( Well, all the best for you. M |
