WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!. Absolutely spectacular pictures. I am with the rest sooo jealous. The house trees are called espaliering, which is a form of pruning so that the leaves and fruit or flowers are only on the front side. Very intricate but beautiful to look at........Love ya, Nanny

wine country - From: The Wine Region
Matthew those pictures truly showed one of the prettiest places you all have been to. Great shots.........and I am sure the tasting was just as good..........the clock always saying 12 is like we boaters......its always 5 o'clock somewhere!!!! The Austrians are pretty clever with the klapotetz.......... should erect those on some of the buildings to keep pidgeons away. Love, Nanny

What a feat to take us thru the travels of Matthew and friends. Loved it..........Your culinary tastes are improving...... we will have you eating chicken feet and sea slugs yet!!!!!!!!!! To experience the cultures of others is what is so rewarding.........but beating women with those twigs for treats..........I don't think I like that one myself!!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures were great to go along with the blog. Thanks for the effort. Know that it was a lot but we all loved it. Love ya, Nanny

It sounds like you had a great time.....to bad you missed the Herring and the Moose for dinner. Sweden is a nice country to visit. Perhaps you should visit in summer as they really have one. Keep up the blog as we do read it carefully. A minor correction....the Vasa heeled, not keeled. Also it good to hear from you.

Hey, What a great blog. But it sure looked cold. If I ever went I think spring or summer would be the time. You should be starting a book for other exchange students.....all the ins and outs of how to see countries and especially how to get seats on planes...........Love ya Nanny

I don't need to carry my passport, I have a card that I have with me that replaces my passport, 'cause it lists me as an inhabitant of Austria, so I only need my passport when I'm in another country...it's a pretty sweet deal haha

L'arco rampante - From: Lazy Days in Graz
Come on, that's common knowledge, the mechanics of the flying buttress, in italiano. (Nah, copied it from Wikipedia.)
