We were heading to this little island
Hello, So this is our last blog entry, just to let those of you who dont know what we got up to in our last few days of our trip!! So we left Cairns after feeling pretty tired by now, the late nights, long bus journeys were beginning to take thier toll a bit and the thought of a beach for 5 days seemed like the best option. We flew to Fiji on the 2nd April on 'Pacific Airlines'. Lots of friendly Fijians all with massive afro's and flowers pinned behind their ears! They kept offering us drinks, so we indulged [View Full Entry]

Hello there, Ok, so yet another bus journey - eek, 12 hour one, our longest yet!! Heading out of Hervery Bay and up to Airlie Beach, the home of the Whitsunday Islands. The 12 hour bus journey was long, Molly slept and Dan stared out of the front window into the small hours!! Its amazing how fast time goes when your listening to good music and pondering life. Ariving at Airlie Beach we were pleasently surprised, a small place with a lagoon, 'The strip' and.. oh yes.. The burger competition boys (see previous blog), still on the goon. The heavens opened [View Full Entry]

Hello!!! So we've done quite a bit of travelling up the coast since our first destination in Australia. We're riding with the Greyhound which is the easiest, cheapest and most comfortablest way to travel up the East Coast for a traveller. After Port Maquarie we went to Byron Bay, a once sleepy little town until surfers found it and turned it into bustling beach town, where backpackers go for a bit of relaxation, partying and shopping. Byron Bay was an interesting place, loads of hippies playing tunes on the streets and your usual drunks and backpackers roming the streets until the [View Full Entry]

Hello! Very sorry we have been rubbish at updating, the computers in Asia are pretty slow and unpredictable so we waited for some Westernisation to write again. So, since Angkor Wat, we made it through another white knuckle journey through the Cambodian countryside, with cows getting in the road every 5 minutes and the bus driver using his most important weapon on the bus - The horn!! beep beep beep.. ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Molly fell asleep still though despite the bus drivers efforts to keep everyone awake including the 3 screaming small children. After much fun and games on the bus jou [View Full Entry]

So we made it down under, an 8 hour plane journey passed pretty quick by the both of us dozing off for 6 of it!! After feeling pretty dazed and confused we got off the train to a very sunny and warm Sydney. We travelled across to Manly on the ferry and set up camp in our hostel. We were thankful to even get on a hostel considering everywhere was booked up! When we googled, 'Sydney and February' it came up with the 'Madis Gras' which is one of the biggest festivals in Sydney where Gay and Lesbians parade about with [View Full Entry]

Hello!! So we've done a bit of travelling since we last updated, but we wanted to pack a lot in before we uplaoded some more info, so here goes... WE left Chiang Mai on Weds the 6th February, once being picked up by a cockney speaking Thai guy, we endured a typical 'Thai Style' journey to the boarder of Thailand. It seems that in this part of the world, you dirve as fast as you can, and hope to Buddha that no one gets in your way! Thankfully, we were sat at the front so we didnt have to experience the [View Full Entry]

We booked into a well swanky hotel called Chaing Mai gate hotel, it has a hot shower and everything. v.impressive breakie. Dan eating like a Powell. We went on a Boat Cruise up the Mae Ping River and tried some traditional Northern Thai dish called Kao Soi (crispy noodles in a curry sauce with pork) yummy!! We spent this evening (and many others) amongst the massive night bazzar, This is stall upon stall [View Full Entry]

Hi all, So we made it to Ko Lanta after a sweaty boat ride from Ko Phi Phi, Molly a little on deaths door but smiling still with the optimisum comments from Dan every 5 minutes. We arrived on Ko Lanta, which is very different from Ko Phi Phi, a lot less touristy and quieter. We made our way to 'Long Beach' which is self explanitory, really lovely beach which looks out into the big blue ocean and resorts and hunts lining the beach. We got a lovely hotel for 400 Baht (7 pounds) a night, well a hut really made [View Full Entry]

Hello All, So we have made it to Thailand, after a long journey from Heathrow Airport. We got to Bangkok after a few hairy moments with a taxi driving who swore blind that he knew where he was going, yet looked about 12 years old! However, we finally realised something wasnt quite right as he started to head to the back door, so we grabed our bags and legged it to a more convenient spot to catch a legal cab..! Once in Bangkok though, we had a great time, finding a great street other than the infamous Koh San Road, we [View Full Entry]
