Hi All. here are some pics from Langkawi which is in the north of Malaysia close to the Thailand border. This was my last stop in Malaysia before I went on to Thailand. As I wasn't able to swim on Penang I really had the craving to go to a nice beach and that's exactly what I did for about a week.. I didn't get much sightseeing done as I just went sunbathing and swimming in the day and in the evenings I chilled out at the nice Reggae beach bars.. I also got my first Thai Massage there as I had some back problems because of my heavy backpack and for a moment I thought that women would kill me. Hi All, It’s been a long time since I haven't written anything. Sorry for the delay but I will try my best to get up to date again. (It’s only like 11 weeks of traveling missing so far.. :-) )Everything is good here so far and I'm still enjoying the traveling. I will upload some pictures of Penang which was one of my favorites in Malaysia. Really nice people, scenic landscapes and very good food. I stayed in Georgetown most of the time and it is famous for some of the best food you can get in Malaysia. Hi All, Ohh, I'm on the roll now.. As it works so well here I will try to upload my KL pics as well. I have to get back up to date.. :-) In Kuala Lumpur we stayed in China town, with big night markets around and a bustling night life. One day we did the hop on hop off bus tour around Kuala Lumpur. Very impressive I thought was a 10 storey shopping centre with an amusement park on the fifth floor. We saw the rollercoaster on the map but couldn't find it so we asked in the shopping centre. Hi All, long time that I haven't written. I haven't really found an internet cafe that was fast enough to upload my pictures. Yesterday I have left Malaysia after over a month and it was a little hard as I really liked it. The first place I'm staying in is Songkhla, Thailand as my sister is arriving in Hat Yai on Friday. I'm really looking forward to see Sarah again after almost 4 month. Hat Yai was recently flooded and it's not a nice place to stay right now. So we decided to move on quickly to the islands in the south west of Thailand. Today I will upload some pics from Malacca. Hi All, I have spent 8 days on ABC Beach on Tioman Island. It's one of the 10 most beautiful Islands in the world (according to lonely planet and time..). I must say it was one of my favorite spots so far. It was very relaxing and quiet, nice beaches, great Reggae bar and people, with happy hour from 5-7 and beyond.. What else does a person need.. :-) The first few days I completed the open water course in diving and it was great fun. It was a great experience to breathe underwater for a change. I have done 4 dives in total up to 18 meters and I haven't had any problems. I have been snorkeling from time to time but this was a completely different thing.. Hi All, here are some pictures of Singapore. I spent 4 nights there and went to the night safari, chinatown, citytour and a lot of walking. :-) I really liked Singapore but after spending couple of weeks in big cities I decided after 5 days to move on to a nice and quiet island in the south east of Malaysia where I spent another 8 days. I prefered Singapore to Dubai as there where many travellers and everybody was quiet nice. The weather was always about 35 degree and I'm slowly getting used to it.. I wonder how I managed the irish weather all these years.. :-) So, now I'll try to upload these pictures. Hi All, I'm still in Singapore at the moment but tomorrow I'll be travelling to Malaysia by bus. I will probably go to Tioman Island and do my Open Water course in Scuba Diving. Always wanted to do that and it seems to be the right time. Last week I was in Dubai for 5 days and it was quite nice. I've been to Marina Bay, did the usual sightseeing tour and I went to the Atlantis Waterpark "Aquaventure" which was good fun. The humidity was a big problem for me and around lunch time I didn't like to go out at all. 2-3 showers a day were nothing.. :-) I stayed in Bur Dubai and I really liked the sourrondings as it was close to the harbour where one of the only traditional arabic markets ... read more
