Moree hectoc than I was expecting but I guess it is a pretty crazy nightlifeobviously. I have a sweet hotel with AC and right on the beachnow this is more like it. Have a huge free breakfast and my room is looking out onto a great pool that basically falls off into the ocean. Yesterda http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Spain/Balearic-Islands/Ibiza/blog-417073.html Barcelona OK made it to Barcelona finally so down to my last country. Pretty huge and crazy hostel hereGothic Point but I am heading to bed as soon as I can to get up early to fly to Ibiza. Most excited about that part of my trip. AC in my own hotel room. It has been a week now since I have had AC and I am not sure how they do it. I havent slept well in a long long time so ready to hit the state http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Spain/Catalonia/Barcelona/blog-416573.html Geneva Well decided to skip ut a day early from Interlaken because it was raining and was not going to clear up. Spluged last night and got a hotel in Lausanne. Not a bad little city with some hills and I stayed right near the Big CathederalNotre Dame I believe. It is more of a studentuniversity city but it has a nice old city area with some shopping and nice barsrestaurants. I ended up eating a http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Switzerland/South-West/Geneva/blog-416115.html Interlaken again. . . Well very interesting 4th of July last night at Balmer's. They were celebrating the 4th and there are a ton of Americans here. I ate a brat because it was only 4.50 while the burgers were 12.50again I am wasting away on this European dietbudget Had a few beers during happy hour and talked to people from all over. Not too late a night though and I was up early today for a 3hr hike to som http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Switzerland/South-West/Interlaken/blog-415429.html Interlaken Switzerland Wow long day so far and it is only half over. Got to Interlaken at 1100am after a 2 hr train ride and I trained to a nearby town deeper in the Alps and hiked 2 hrs up to a mtn town with amazing views. The toughest hike I have ever done and only 2 hrs but it was constantno flat areas to take a break and I was on my own and pushing hard. Definitely worked up a sweatNow I have most assuredly http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Switzerland/South-West/Interlaken/blog-415093.html Lucerne etc. OK good times in Greece but good to be out of the Aegean and on to new places. Munich was Munich. Not a bad city but nothing really special. Not trying to offend anyone out there but it is what it is. Had a beer at the Hauphbrauhaus or however you spell it but went out to a local beer hall with some people in the hostel that was a lot better with no tourists. Had my first purple cabbage http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Switzerland/North-West/Lucerne/blog-414831.html Rhodes Wow Everywhere we go in the Aegean has a different alluring quality to it. Loved the two cities we were in in Turkey but Rhodes is one of the neatest places I have ever been. Massive fortress that houses the old town and we are staying at the Mango Rooms right in the middle of it. We have basically just walked around ate had a few beers and enjoyed the great atmosphere. This is the last http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Greece/South-Aegean/Rhodes/blog-414027.html Turkey agan OK Can't remember where I left off but good t305mes 305n Turkey. Lets see so farGot to Bodrum and 305t was amaz305ng. So many clubs and restaurants and act305on overall. Cl305nt and I rented a car and took off north though w305th no 305dea where we were go305ng or for how long. The dr305ve north to Izm305r though was very dull and took about 4 hrs. We saw the http://www.travelblog.org/Middle-East/Turkey/Aegean/Marmaris/blog-413304.html Turkey Wow Made 305t to Turkey and don't know where the comma 305s on th305s so bear w305th me. Bodrum 305s an amazing place. Beaut305ful and carefree and not too expensive for a resort destinat305on. We decided to get a car today though and cancel our reservat305ons the next 3 n305ghts and then just drive northnot sure where we would end up. Well we went north for a http://www.travelblog.org/Middle-East/Turkey/Aegean/Bodrum/blog-412915.html Kos Greece So now we are in Kos Greece. Long long day of travel yesterday as we got to the Santorini airport after a 4 hr airport worker strike damn socialistlike countries and it backed up all the flights so we were 4 hrs late to Kos and did not do anything except get food and go to sleep at 1am last night. And today they wouldn't let us rent scooters buggies 4wheelers or anything because they s http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Greece/South-Aegean/Kos/blog-412455.html Santorini Day 2 Wow good day in Santorini Scooters around the island all daywent to the sand houses along the shore drove to the rim of the caldera and over to the Red Beach and then up to Ancient Thira. Finished off the afternoon with a gyro on the beach and then jumped off a good 40 foot cliff into the Aegean Ahhh. . .quick shower and then we all scootered over to Oia to watch the sunest. Now grabbing http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Greece/South-Aegean/Santorini/blog-411566.html Greece Wow So I am done a week or so of this year's trip and been to Athens Mykonos Ios and Santorini arrived today. Greece is amazing as always. The 3 island cruise from Athens was goodlots of sun but gotta love Poros and Hydra Aeginablah. Mykonos was a bit better than normal but it is so expensive. We stayed in a new hotel and I liked it more than the one that we usually stay at th http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Greece/South-Aegean/Santorini/blog-411194.html About to leave OK so I am about to embark on my latest summer adventure. I would say this one is not as crazy in terms of strange new places to go but it is crazy in other ways. I will be hitting up places that are packed with great nightlife not that I will be tearing it up or anything lots of backpackers adventures to partake in beautiful surroundings etc. Doing the Greece thing for the 7th year in http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/North-Carolina/Cary/blog-408294.html ScotlandDay 4 Wow lots of driving and I can't remember where I left off so I will go with the short version.Scotland is amazing to get out and see. Quite possibly one of my 3 favorite countries now. We drove from Stirling the other day all the way past Fort William the island of Skye and right through much of the Highlands. Stayed at a castle in northern Scotland and got up yesterday to go to Uruqhot spe http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Edinburgh/blog-305237.html ScotlandDay 1 Well long day of travel but great scenery in Scotland. We were up at 630 and off to the airport by the city bus for our flight to Liverpool England. Got in at about 1030 and got our rental car at Hertz. They screwed us over though by charging us an extra 200 that what we have on our email confirmationand not for insurance or anything just the price. Whatever. Anyway we did not mak http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Scotland/Stirling/blog-304098.html Dublin and Belfast OK so the last night in Dublin was tons of fun too. Some people almost talked us into staying an extra night and skipping Belfast but we did not. A guy we met at the hostel the night before Peter Katz was playing at a local pub as a solo singersongwriteretc. and so we all went over to see him open for another act and he was so excited. Great guy who is tring to make it as a musician and h http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/Northern-Ireland/Belfast/blog-303614.html Dublin Wow never thought I would like Dublin so much but it may have moved to the top of my favorite cities list. The Temple Bar District at least is so much fun. Of course I love the pub culture with the great food and good beer. We have been to Trinity College today and St. Stephen's Green and off to the Guinness Sorehouse in a bit but such culture here. . .anyway short time on the computer but http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Dublin/Dublin/blog-303085.html Prague So I was back to Prague for a few days and it is still one of my favorite places to go right up there with Ljubljana. So much action. I think there were even more tourists than I remembered from last year though but you can just walk around those little streets forever. Things are not quite so cheap anymore either due to the bad US dollareach dollar is not about 14 Czech krowns and I think http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Czech-Republic/Prague/blog-303079.html Dubrovnik again Well we took the bus to Budva Montenegro the other day and it was a rough ride. We had to change in Montenegro after a long wait at the Croatia border. The bus had no AC and every seat was taken. Not fun. The city was sort of chaotic when we got there. Had to find a place to stay and the place we got was nice but it did not seem like a location for us. Reminded me of the crowded Italian be http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Croatia/Dalmatia/Dubrovnik/blog-301813.html Dubrovnik Croatia So we are in Dubrovnik now and it is gorgeous. Got in last night and staying at the same sobe stayed in last year. A bit of a walk downhill to the old city but the people are great and they gave us the best room with ac and a great view. The lady did our laundry last night and brought us juice and cookies when we firts got there and tonight we are going to have them cookout for us on the de http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Croatia/Dalmatia/Dubrovnik/blog-300009.html
