| 14th April 2008 Miss Jenny | - From: Taiwan Part 9 - Sun and Music Hey G, I was also suprised about the drug use. I'm starting to see that drugs are around and the laws are more relaxed than China's. Still I try and stay clear from them being a foreigner and all. |
| 10th April 2008 G | Hey Jenny - From: Taiwan Part 9 - Sun and Music Great update on Taiwan Jenny! Sounds like you are having fun! I didn't even realize that Taiwan has beaches like that! I will have to head back to kenting again next time! I went to Fulong before when I was much younger, and we camped at the beach! I like the pic of the luxury bus...hmmm, i might need to get one for myself next time! It looks like it's overkill, since Taiwan isn't all that big! hehe I am surprised to hear about the drug use! I thought Taiwan has the death penalty on drug. interesting! That's cool that you went to the Spring Scream! i haven't never heard of it!! Thanks for sharing the fun you are having! I am jealous! G |

Maybe next time, you can ask the school to recommend doctors who prescribed Asian medicine. It might work better than the western drug they prescribe! G |

| 4th March 2008 Greg | karaoke - From: Taiwan Part 4 - Kereoke - sightseeing- Kereoke some of my worst memories of Taiwan are me sitting in the back of a tour bus listening to old women sing karaoke. My ears are still bleeding! |
| 4th March 2008 Greg | sweet! - From: Taiwan Part 1 - The arrival, The First Day. Stumbled across your blog. I'm Taiwanese by birth, but can barely speak a word of Mandarin. When I was there a couple years back I'd get all excited to see "foreigners" thinking I'd have someone to talk too, except they wouldn't realize they could talk to me and walk right by after a "hi." Dunno if you've figured it out yet, but a lot of Taiwanese can understand English better when it's written instead of spoken. |
| 22nd February 2008 swills82 | Teaching Abroad - From: Taiwan Part 1 - The arrival, The First Day. What company did you find this placement through? I'm thinking of teaching in Asia in September. I just wondered if you could provide me with more details about yours. If you could e-mail me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! (jazzy_101@hotmail.com) |

| 11th February 2008 Lisa | Finding non-sweet bread in Taipei - From: Taiwan part 5 - A Week of Chinese New Year - My partner and I had trouble finding what we consider 'good bread' when we first arrived too. We have since found a good bakery chain (but can't remember name-will get back to you on that one). One outlet is near to the 101's Jason's store (not the one attached to Jasons but at the entrance of food court). Another is at SOGO (Zhongshou Fuxing MRT) basement level. It's not brown bread but we can recommend the French Country Loaf or the French sticks - yumm. Enjoy! |
