Happy Christmas to everyone back home! It's not exactly hot and sunny but it's very different being in shorts and playing in the garden. Now all the adults are having a quick snooze, I can tell you about today! Mummy and Daddy were in charge of all the cooking and they did an excellent job - an amazing filet of beef as well as turkey and all the trimmings. Dad got on the sherry just to be a bit nostalgic and insisted on some carols on the CD to make it feel proper Christmassy. Jacob and Monique arrive at 10:30, shortly followed by Andrew, Diana and Dominic. Grandad took some family photos - might be a while before we're all together to do that again. Whilst Daddy was cooking, Grandma and Grandad Sharpe called from Winchcombe ... read more

During our second week in Dunsborough, we saw plenty of beaches and Mummy and Daddy visited yet more 'cellar doors' in the Margaret River region - flaming alco's. All of this was concentrated between the 2 Capes - 'Naturaliste' in the North and 'Leeuwin' in the South - the most South-Westerly point in all of Australia. The brilliant blue skies and strong winds seemed to set the right mood. We also visited the small town of Augusta which is ... read more

After Fremantle, we headed South to Dunsborough - just under 300km - passing through Mandurah, Rockingham and Bunbury. Mandurah and Rockingham feel like the new Florida Keys with lots of new housing developments built around inlets and waterways - looked pretty stunning and you'd get a lot of house for your British Pound! We stopped off in Busselton for afternoon Tea - very bright but still a cold chill in the air. Busselton has the longest pier in the Southern Hemisphere at just under 2km. We would be back another day so that Mummy and Daddy could push me all the way along it - and back! Dunsborough is a great base for visiting the Margaret River region - main things to do are visit the vineyards (only Mum and Dad to taste though!), go fishing, ... read more

Having stayed with Grandma and Grandad Feneley for the weekend we flew to Perth Monday lunchtime for our holiday in Dunsborough. We stayed the night at the Esplanade hotel in Fremantle after mummy and daddy had pigged out on seafood at Joe's Fish Shack on the harbour. The following morning we had breakfast on the cappucino strip and had a good look around Fremantle, including some time on the swings and slides in the park for me!! We also visited the WA Maritime Museum which Daddy loved and gave us a chance to buy Grandad Sharpe a card and gift for his Birthday. Fremantle was very bright and sunny but quite chilly, even in December! Then it was time to head south to Dunsborough.... read more
