Mirachael - Raquel O Turda

Raquel O Turda I love to travel...well am actually wanting to love to travel but as common as it may sound "I do not have the time to do it, becasue of work, work, work.. yadayadayada". So, whenever I got opportunities to go out of the city I grabbed it with no hesitations and that made me start my travel blog.

It was perhaps the worst that hit the country lately, as Storm “Ondoy” pour all over Metro Manila putting many places under water with stranded people already on their rooftops, causing wide-spread blackouts and killing people. As some of you might heard or not, Metro Manila, Philippines had been greatly affected by Typhoon Ondoy. I encourage everyone to extend any assistance you can to any Filipino friends you have whose families are adversely affected by this calamity. You can inform them to contact the following Hotlines that we had organized which is now accepting donati [View Full Entry]

Coffee Break in Boracay Asia » Philippines » Boracay

White Beach
white powdery sand of Boracay on a Sunny day
If you cannot have lunch or dinner in Manila why not take a Coffee break in Boracay?.... Boracay.the prestine beach, long stretch of white sand...the place has been the talk of the town since 2003 when I graduated college. it has been my dream to go there. Finally after the long wait I was in Boracay last Friday September 11, 2009...six years in the making.Yes! the prestine beach and white sand were true. Taking an hour flight via Sea Air Airlines at Manila Domestic airport on a 32 seater plane. I was nervous because of the small aircraft but the smooth [View Full Entry]

SUBIC FRIENDS Subic has been a memorable place for me, it is where I met and bonded with my various friends from the office, college school and to new found friends. I've been to Subic so many times and each time there is different experience to share and treasure. Just 1 1/2 hours from Manila via SCTEX there is no hassle on the road. Just be sure to watch your speed limit and abide by the traffic rules. They are very strict unlike in the Metro. There are many things to do in Subic upon arriving you can dine in for lunch [View Full Entry]

Taal Volcano and Me, taken at Leslie's restaurant one of the best places in Tagaytay to view and take a pic with the Taal Volcano.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday these are the days of our lives. Weekends..always looking forward to it after a busy schedule at work and the best thing to do is take a road trip to Tagaytay. An hour away from Metro Manila, taking the route via the newly renovated South Luzon Express way(SLEX). There are 5 places in Tagaytay where your mind, body (tummy) and eyes can relax aside from the beautiful..cute as it seems Taal Volcano (smallest volcano in the world). With the cold breeze sweeping your cheeks, the wind sounds like soft chimes and greens all around you. Peaceful! [View Full Entry]

"the mouth" entrance to the Underground River with it's limestone and tree roots and green water
It was my first trip to Palawan, top of my priority is to visit the Underground River. Being nominated and always on the top ten of the New 7 wonders of Nature competition my excitement grows and grows the closer we get to the place. A 3 hour land drive on a Toyota Escapade Van. Our driver Manong Vic who grew up in Palawan does not mind the bumps and rough roads. Each rock and mud that struck our windshield was just part of the fun. Every turn a spectacular mountain view was on sight. The Palawan mountain range never [View Full Entry]

The Curtains

And were back again in Cafe by the Ruins...this is one place I will never forget to visit whenever am in Baguio. Why? Simply because of the ooohh so yummy food and the artworks. A short walk from Baguio City Hall is the Chuntug Street where you can find Cafe by the Ruins....Ample parking for the guest escorted by "Manong" (thats how we call vehicle dispatchers instead of a Security Guard). For this year we had lunch at the Cafe instead of the usual breakfast though they still serves breakfast meals. We tried the Longanisa with brown rice...yummy and healthy. [View Full Entry]

50's diner....all girls breakfast..
Back in Baguio; for breakfast Another year passed and we are back again in Baguio. This time around we tried other restaurants for a change but still visited the old one's. We arrived at Baguio early morning in time for some hot coffee and great food. 50's diner an all time American inspired diner that serves "all day breakfast food"but take note it is owned by Koreans. My favorite would be the "Clubhouse Sandwich" 2 pieces of a 1 1/2 inch thick triangle bread sliced and stuffed with egg, tomatoes, cucumber, chicken salad, bacon strips, ketchup and mu [View Full Entry]
