So very very quick update because people are waiting for the free computers.... 1. overnight ferries are pretty nice, rocks you to sleep sort of - what isn't nice is the fact that they let a number of very creepy looking people camp out in corridors and on stairs if they don't have rooms so you are constantly walking around over people! 2. Athens is a bit depressing and you can really see the poverty that is starting to take over - on the up side the acropolis and the parthenon are beautiful and the view from up there is amazing! Also, riots happened the day before we arrived so city relatively quiet which was nice! Heading into the Plaka tonight for dinner so we'll see how it goes! 3. Mykonos is exactly how I pictured ... read more

So I wrote the worlds longest blog and my time had run out so it didnt save and im starting again - sorry if its not great - they never are as good second time around! Here goes... Our last night in Nice we headed to Monaco to the casinos - very expensive but beautiful and old - would love to live there but very very exclusive - they even turned down Arnold Schwarznegger!!! ha ha ha ha. Lost €20 on roulette but was worth it for a bit of fun - at least I can say I gambled in Monaco! Then off to Venice via Verona where we had a bit of a walk around and went to see Juliets balcony. It was pretty packed but everyone got to rub the statue's boobs for luck ... read more

Europe » France » Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur » Nice June 23rd 2011

Hi everyone, So by now I've uploaded some photos to my Facebook page so hopefully everyone can see them. Just a quick update now from Alix's laptop (thanks Al!) before I head off to bed after a big day of being on the bus! After Lauterbrunnen we headed to Avignon, France - the most beautiful and typically french walled city. I loved it there so much and it was a pity we only had a night. Sat in a little French square eating wonderful food, drinking wine and smothering myself in the most amazing chocolate cake you've ever seen in your life... not joking... I would pay $2000 for a flight back just to eat it! All in all loved the atmosphere and the lifestyle of Avignon - it'll probably be one of the highlights of ... read more

Ok, So now that Im on a semi normal keyboard (sorry about the bad punctuation - cant make most of the symbol keys work) Ive got a bit more to tell you. Tour has started out great - the group is all really nice and have made some great new friends. Our guide is really knowledgeable and has made everything really easy. Our driver (Ray from Latvia) is like James Bond with a bus. He managed to squeeze a full size coach through the arches at the Louvre - he had about 10cm either side of the mirrors so just goes to show his skill. Paris has officially changed my mind as well - had a real prejudice going in and absolutely loved it. Beautiful and so much to look at. Pity it was a bit ... read more

Ok, so I know i'm getting in a little early for the whole blogging thing but this site is a bit complicated and I can't figure things out without actually doing them - my blonde streak coming out I guess. So... First blog is just a test run to see how everything works so I can keep you all updated while I'm off galivanting across Europe. Cross our fingers it works so I don't have to go through the horror that is group emailing... :P... read more
